Fine...but I think the important part of that is that the $7 million figure that's be trotted out here is not truthful in terms of being what was paid to replace the Tiger stadium screen. that $7 million was spread out over multiple venues...though presumably the bulk was in Tiger stadium. I'd be curious to know the actual cost of the new screen (plus cost of removing/replacing) with the new one for just TS. That number would at least be accurate when talking about how we're not getting our money's worth...

- 100% of the fan base would rather see more replay space and running game stats versus what they offer now
- the sponsors on that "video board" aren't the reason why we have it
- there are countless other ways we could have paid for that board
Is what we have now better than before? Yes...could it be much better? YES! Will LSU listen to our feedback and improve its use after the ad contracts expire? Hmmmm...

Those who have no problem with all of this takeover of sports by corporations probably enjoy seeing ads before a movie....we all enjoy "Paying" to see commercials don't we???

Someone was being sarcastic and farked the new scoreboard before they installed it. I find it hilarious that some LSU exec probably saw this and $$$ clouded his eyes.
For those that said the ads paid for the screens. IMO when the screen is paid for, would LSU reconsider making the ads smaller for game enjoyment.

I think the adage "You get more flies with honey than with vinegar" applies here. Going directly to LSU with thoughts and concerns about the new board is probably a worthwhile endeavor. Coming on here and saying (and I'm quoting here) "The new scoreboard...it sucks" is probably not condusive to getting changes made.
Like I said earlier, I'm no LSU apologist and I've taken them to task for any number of things they've done wrong in my opinion. For my take, I just don't have a huge beef with the board...regardless of whether it COULD be better or not.

It is game two that the scoreboard has been used. There are obviously still issues with it since they were replacing panels during game one. Not to mention LSU worked to change some aspects of the board between games one and two. Whoever said the ad sizes were the same as the old board hit the nail on the head with the sizing of this board...CONTRACTS.
It's a brand new scoreboard that they are obviously trying to work with to create a better viewing experience for you. If you want to look at the old scoreboard, turn around and look at it but please stop talking repeatedly about the same thing. Appreciate the fact that they are trying to make a better viewing experience and in most people's eyes have done just that. Let them continue to work with the board instead of jumping to conclusions about the atrocity that you believe LSU athletics to be after two freaking games.

Both the Ole Miss & MSU boards have a better viewing area. In fact, I think the design of MSU board is best.
I hope LSU can keep the same amount of ads but make them smaller. If anything it doesn't make me want the products more. It annoys me instead.

The funny thing is all these people calling for just a backlit board for the ads would then bitch about how it makes death valley so aesthetically not pleasing especially from the outside. Our board isn't tall enough to support all the ads circling the screen like the ones previously shown. I'm down with the new board and you ungreatful sons of bitches should be as weell.
