Yeah.
I think 90% of what JJ does wrong can be fixed, with a good coach.
He will never be a great QB. . .but he could be decent. Had he had a solid QB coach all 4 years, I think we would be talking him winning a 2nd BCS title this year. . .or Lee.
Both have good skill sets. . .they just have not improved at all. Lee and JJ are the same player now they were in their SR year in HS.

who said anything about JJ winning the heisman? But the notion that a qb has to throw for 28+tds to be any good is just plain absurd
I would settle for efficient, which we haven't seen in a QB in 4 years.

Missing out the 61.8% completion percentage, 2267 yards and 132.6 QB rating from his Junior Year as well... While the TD/INT ratio wasn't great the other numbers were not bad.
So True. JJ is no where near the qb Campbell was his junior year much less his senior year!

turning 4 TDs and 10 INTs in to 10 TDs and 4 INTs in one offseason would be a freaking miracle.
Im sure Krags is good, but he isnt God.

All those comments DO NOT SAY shite about JJ starting and playing the ENTIRE season....unless you are an LSU coach, you know no more than the rest of us....

JJ will start, but there are immensely more factors involved than the number of years he has been in Baton Rouge.
No there's not. Even JJ admits he's starting because of seniority. Check the sig quote.

I keep hearing the 10 ints and 4 tds stat. The year prior was much better. Come on - we used him differently and played a different offensive scheme. That's all.

The thing that bothers me about all this is that all indications are that JJ thinks he's been playing pretty well. If that's the case, then JJ himself doesn't believe he'll get much better than we've seen.
I await reassurance...

I am not sure why people try to compare Campbell and Jefferson. Jefferson is more of a runner than what Campbell ever was. Campbell was a better quarterback however. Everyone tries to state how bad Campbell junior season was yet he was rated right where Jefferson Sophomore season was (which everyone believes was his best numbers wise and it was) so Campbell's worst season was equal to Jefferson's best? Is that what we are really trying to say?
Not sure why you even post on this board. So you do know campbell attempted more passes correct? And obviously JJ attempted more rushes. If you compare their total yds and total tds it is very similar. Guess what else is very similar? Campbell got a new oc his sr year. And JJ gets a new oc his sr year. And what happen to campbells production? It went up. But no they are very diff qbs but in a similar situation where no one thought campbell was the answer.
I usually dont like to bring this in the equation, but the sec west wasnt a very good division in 03. And auburns ooc schedule wasnt near as tough as LSU's this past season. So I would say JJ is performing on par with Jason's JR year against tougher competition from a total yds total tds standpoint.
They run a completely diff offense. If ur qb cant pass why would yo try to stretch the field with him? If ur qb cant run why would you run the option with him? JJ is returning as our leading rusher and leading scorer.
That is why he will start and that is why he will play the entire season. But i expect to see Lee and Mett play also.

Sounds almost as if Krag was hired to make JJ an impact player.
I think JJ this season could look a lot like J Campbell of 2004 after Borges arrived into town.
I'm hoping the situations are similar anyway. And Auburn is defending champs and coming into our house...very familiar to 2004 there, too.

Are you kidding? They played USC, Georgia Tech, ULM, and Western Kentucky. USC that won the AP title in 2003. They are better than anyone LSU played in 2010 OOC. UNC with half of their team is no better than at Georgia Tech. ULM = ULM, Western Kentucky = McNeese State. Campbell also had a new OC every year he was at Auburn. JJ was in his 3rd year with Crowton and regressed.

Ive checked the stats have you? I posted them in another thread a while back. Here let me help you do ur own research. You cant deny them especially since the only thing people can spit out is 4-14.

USC was the only stud in that group.
We played a much tougher ooc sched than 03 AU

Simply not true. UNC without their defense was on par with Georgia Tech. West Virginia wasn't in the same hemisphere as 2003 USC.

UNC was #18, and lost a bunch of starters.
Ga Tech was unranked, and lost a bunch of starters to ineligibility. And had a tue fresman QB, who was probably worse than Jefferson AND Lee.
