This is why it matters...

I don't care what anyone's narrative is about Clemson this season. The fact of the matter is they are a dangerous team with a Great Coach and a Massive Chip on their shoulder. Just look back at Dabo's bowl record over the last 10 years. It's incredible. Victories over US! OHIO STATE twice, Oklahoma twice, Bama twice, and Notre Dame. Fact of the matter is they come to play in Bowl season. They are the defending National Champions who have been given zero respect. You better bet your a** they are coming to make a statement.
Yes, I believe in our boys, I believe in Joe. I just don't think he will let us lose. He's been incredible all season. But if we draw Clemson first round I think it's going to be a enormous obstacle as opposed to Utah.
Furthermore why should OSU get an easier road to the title game? Haven't they had it easy enough this season??? BIG10 is overrated. Committee is clearly already helping their cause. I'm not impressed with their schedule or their victories over so-called quality opponents.
Fact of the matter is we shouldn't have to prove we are #1. We are #1 in the AP, the coaches and the Power Rankings. We should get the respect of Navigating the SEC undefeated. We play a much better opponent in the SEC championship game too (basically in their own backyard) meanwhile OSU gets Wiscy again. A team they already thumped this season. LSU has earned the right to play the #4 seed in the playoffs.
These are the facts of WHY it does matter.

Having said that, if LSU beats UGA, then Clemson, then OSU, this team would rank as one of the best in NCAA history.

Penn St and or Wisconsin would be AT BEST 7-5 with a&Ms schedule. Cinn would likely not be bowl eligible. That's what some people fail to understand. All records are not created equally.

Agree.
And none of that matters unless we beat UGA first.

You're 100% right. I can honestly say that I get actually upset at how bias this committee and the media is towards our team and the schedule they've played. It's just mind blowing to me how much disrespect could be given to one program right in front of our eyes.

It does not matter
I would think the final CFP rankings will come out next week after the conference championships it is possible for a few of the top 4 ranked teams could lose and shake up the final poll.
LSU is playing Georgia and statistics on defense by far the best team LSU will play this year. Georgia is no gimmie game and if we win or win in a big fashion then the committee may vote LSU #1 and if Ohio St loses they may drop out
If LSU loses to Georgia we may sneak in and if so we would be #4 for sure.
This is why it does not matter until after this weekend

Everything you said is true. Too bad the committee doesn’t care about facts.

If we were playing Clemson in the Rose bowl instead of Arizona, everyone would be pumped up and no bitching. We travel very well, team and fans. Clemson has no advantages out there.
Just show up and play. The team knows that. I wish the fans would follow in line.

It’s simpler than that.
Playing Clemson in round one is going to be harder than Utah or whoever else. That game carries more injury risk or hangover effect than playing. 1v4.

Can you please explain this. It doesn’t seem to make any sense to me?

Indeed, brother. I've been trying to drive home the point of not all records being created equal for about two months. People keep saying "why do you say OSU plays no one? Their opponents winning percentage is blah, blah". To which, I say, go look at who the teams on OSU's schedule have played. People think Cincy and Indiana were quality wins. Those teams both had trouble beating awful teams. Especially Cincy.
Minnesota, who OSU has not played, rolled up a bunch of wins against nobody, and almost lost to Georgia Southern. But they beat Penn State. And Penn State is supposed to be some great team?
It's all about the narrative. People decided that the Big 10 was a strong conference, and so we're not supposed to look into that deeply. We're supposed to accept that Penn State, Michigan and Wisconsin are really good teams, and not compare their resume's vs our opponents resume's. Therefore, we cannot be objective when comparing stats and "eye test". We're just supposed to view numbers in a vacuum.

Oregon will beat Utah anyway.

The best.
There is a chance if LSU runs the table and Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn win the final poll could look like this
1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Georgia
5. Florida
6. Alabama
7. Auburn
8. Oklahoma
9. Utah
10. Baylor
LSU could have wins over every team in the top 7. No team in history would come close.

Here in the West everyone gripes about SEC being overrated. They're serious!
If Utah, Oregon, UW were in SEC they would be an A&M or Auburn type position.

I don't care. You still have to win. Period. All you people sound like cry babies. Win and move on to the next.

The risk of injury at this level will not be a factor. All the teams in the playoff will be good and physical. Tua got hurt against Mississippi State, hardly a world beater. Swift got hurt against A&M. I don’t recall in which game Delpit got hurt, but I don’t think it was against one of the higher ranked teams. It would be interesting to go back through games and see if opponent ranking has a statistical impact on the number of injuries. My guess is it is less relevant than we might think.
In the end, just get the job done. I think that is what this team thinks. They will not be intimidated by Clemson. They have just as much to prove as Clemson, if not more. At the end of the day, if we are going to lose, does it matter that much which of two games we lose? No one will care 6 months from now. If we can’t beat Clemson, we shouldn’t be the NC.

Utah is AT LEAST 20 points worse than LSU, OSU or Clemson.
