All you clowns saying he needs to go now makes no sense. Barring a catastrophic injury (knock on wood) Devin White will STILL go PRO! He will STILL likely go high 1st Round. He will STILL GET DRAFTED even if he somehow has a bust Senior Season. HE will STILL make Millions in the NFL.

Leonard Fournette basically sleptwalked through his JR season, hampered by an "ankle injury" after his breakout Sophemore season at LSU and guess what???? HE WAS STILL drafted 1st round #4 overall!

And unlike Fournette Devin White doesn't seem to have character issues. Devin is a competitor and probably wants more to his LSU story than to jump ship to the NFL early like most of our star athletes of the past have done.

Look at KYLE WILLIAMS. Class act, an LSU All-TIME GREAT, now a retired NFL great who will surely go on to the HALL of FAME. Look back at his NFL career. He gave the city of BUFFALO 13 glorious seasons. A very long and prosperous career in the NFL. But guess what people? Kyle Williams never even sniffed a SUPERBOWL ring, and thats unfortunate especially how long he lasted in the LEAGUE. But guess what KYLE WILLIAMS does have? A BCS NATIONAL TITLE RING with Louisiana State University. I bet when Kyle WIlliams goes to bed each night he looks back at his football career with no regrets, but I bet that BCS Ring has a lot to do with that.

The point is.....the NFL can wait. Devin White is a competitor and he will succeed in the NFL and make his $$$ in the NFL when that times comes. Whether that time is now or later. But....next season is setting up to be special with the fire power we have coming back and the recruits we have coming in. Beyond Greedy Williams we don't really lose a lot either. This 2019 team has a legit shot at going to the Playoffs and getting a shot at another NATIONAL TITLE. LSU has been out of the conversation for too LONG!

I highly doubt Devin White will regret not going PRO a year early when he's hoisting the College Football Playoff Trophy over his head.

Bro, settle down with the caps.

Why are you comparing DW to a player that had ZERO chance to be drafted as a jr and was a 5th round pick as a sr.

Can you provide a financial report showing how DW will never make up the money he passes on if he stays. If he stays, next year he will miss a whole year of salary, he could never make up.

DW is motivated by things that most young men his age aren’t. He is a different breed. Bottom line.

He would have preferred to play RB out of high school and could have went to several other schools and done so. But he sacrificed what he wanted to be a Tiger. He has been selfless his entire life. I don’t see why people are so shocked that he is coming back.

I want him to stay selfishly as much as the next guy, but there is also a time table on these guys bodies you have to consider and staying would take away one of those years on that time table of getting paid....who knows, he could turn out to be an all time nfl great and that extra season in the league could put his career stats over the top....never know.

The man can do whatever he wants with his future decision, will support his success either way!

The counter argument that most make that is hard to refute is that by him not going now he is passing up more money. Mainly because of the time value of money. That kind of money with a years interest can never be recouped.

My only slight argument to that is on the back end of his career. Most guys once they decide to retire, really could play another season but they are “passing on the money” mainly because they already have it now and don’t need/want any more.

If DW is a money guy then he would drag out his playing career to the point of injury or not making a team.

It really is an interesting delimma that these guys face. Unfortunate that the NCAA can’t put something in place to help secure these high dollar atheletes who make a decision to risk everything by staying. If I was them I would be working diligently on trying to figure that out. The best thing for college football would be finding a way to keep these Star players in college for as long as possible.

I want him to stay too. With all my heart. But there’s so much that’s wrong with this post and breaking it down would take too much time.

I’ll just pick one:

Leonard Fournette basically sleptwalked through his JR season, hampered by an "ankle injury"

Pretty shitty to downplay an injury just to prop up another player.

Plus we do this every year.

“But he’s different!” “He loves his team!” “He’s a class act!”

Devin would rather ride on a horse than in a Lambo. He’s simply not just made like most people. Money wasn’t the dominating factor in this desicion.

Disagree.

At best, miss a years pay AND millions of dollars.

At worse, catastrophic injury and fighting insurance company for pennies on the NFL dollar. Or car crash- other accident. Or girlfriend accusing you of rape or assault. Etc. Etc.

If a kid is projected in high first round, financially he should go.

But finances are not all there is to life. Getting married and having kids is a financial disaster! But it is the most rewarding and significant thing a man can do in his life.

Nothing is guaranteed. What if he gets into a car accident like Chad Jones? What if he gets sick? The point is getting the guaranteed money as soon as you can. If he goes he goes and if he stays he stays .

Has there ever been an LSU star we didn’t say this about?
