LSU had their chances, we had essentially a full season head start on people and the search process was a complete joke

There's going to be a couple of schools in a bidding war over a coach before it's over. Someone is going to end up drastically overpaying, likely Aggots seeing how much they love to boast about money and how desperate they are. Will be fun to watch, just hope we don't get drug into it by someone trying to poach staff.

This is no way validates Alleva's horrific f ups but I can't imagine being in the market this year. After the Troy loss it was looking like we may well be but O recovered well enough.

All those openings and I bet Orgeron is not even considered for any of them, CUSA and Sun Belt schools included.

Think about what you just said.

We would've at the very least wound up with the same coach if we would've fired Miles this year.

Orgeron was the last resort. He would've been available no matter what year we fired Miles.

Eh, LSU would be the second best job available if we were looking this year, which is the exact same position we were in last year.

I think people were surprised he was truly an option.

Not to say O can't be extremely successful here in the future but there were dozens of other coaches a lot more qualified.

The reality was at the time the hire was complete incompetence. And to make matters worse, we handicap ourselves with a ridiculous buyout

We landed a coach no one else was interested in, in a year only one other major program was hiring, and we didn’t conduct a search.

Well the upside is, other college programs can raid Alabama's coaching staff and other Elite programs. Possibly affect them as well.

Negative. For LSU, it was last year.
