Did shores actually pitch poorly or did the ump squeeze the shite out of him?
Both. Shores stared off great closing the 2nd. The umps did squeeze him on some pitches early in the 3rd. But it’s on him for folding and not being mentally tough enough to battle through it. Once he got in his head, he was toast.

absolutely nothing

I had high hopes for Shores. He seemed to be finding his role his last several appearances. He was absolutely awful last night.....the ole injury thing is way too old now. Same with Noot. I wish these guys nothing but success, but not sure they have the mental aspect to cut it.

Absolutely fricking nothing and I think that’s the point

absolutely. He is struggling mentally, and that is not what we need at this point for a closer or relief. So disappointed, I thought he was turning the corner after his last few appearances. He can't be trusted now. He COMPLETELY shite the bed last night.

Meh. In a game with plenty of arms available (hopefully next weekend), he’s still a solid option. You just have to be able to pull him if he’s not on or loses it.

Leaving a guy (Shores) you trust in for 40 pitches is not bad coaching
The question then is why does he trust Shores?

Nothing. Jones does nothing. Really telling that they walked a freshman Curiel to get to Jones......
That said it all. LR purposely walked a player to get to Jones.

Braswell left runners on base in scoring position every time he was up to bat

Noot was a disappointment.
Shores melting down due to pressure early in a drivers seat game vs. a 4 seed was a debacle.
Jones is what it is. It’s Gone and it isn’t coming back in the short term.

You've got to throw Braswell in there, too. I love the guy's defense at third, but his bat is turrible!

It got to the point where they wouldn’t throw a fastball unless ahead in the count because it wasn’t going to be close.

So did DBU. Jay is the only person in America that doesn’t understand he’s in a nasty slump and isn’t showing any signs of busting out of it.

|Absolutely nothing as a hitter. He's trying to hit the ball out of the CITY instead of just trying to drive it somewhere.|
This is 100% accurate. He needs to make some adjustments and just drive a hard hit ball. Yea, you can say what do you think he's trying to do? But what he's trying to do is hit it to Mexico. After the intentional walk to Curiel, he swung through three straight off speed pitches. They were up, too. He just didn't recognize and adjust.....horrible AB. He's supposed to be our dude and he's not right now.

Along with most of the rest of team team. But it’s his fault they scored 10 runs right? He at least scored a run. What about Stanfield, braswell, Frey, brown, Josh Pearson?

Shores and Jones.
Frey went 0/4 and left the bases loaded. Braswell went 0/2 and left runners on base in both of his ABs, 3 total. Dickinson had 1 first inning hit and nothing afer that. After the first inning, our lineup was basically a black hole from the 2 spot through the 5 spot. After the first inning, those spots produced 2 base runners the rest of the game, both by way of walks. Then, the 8 and 9 spots didn't reach base at all the entire game. The only productive batters were Curiel, Milam and Hernandez.

Demonbengal: I totally agree and blame CJJ for that mistake or lack of timely pitching change.
