LSU will be fine in the long run, however this was nothing short of an unmitigated disaster!
Joe Aleva ran this university through the mud for 2 weeks only to come out with a heart of stone to say that Les is "our coach ok", which only made LSU look worse. Ultimately, it is in fact time for a change at the top of this football program but instead of making a change, we gave the wrong guy infinite power and all of the bargaining chips.
I'd hate for LSU to go through another witch hunt by rallying the troops to fire Alleva, but my god how in the hell can anyone have faith in this man's ability to run this athletics department anymore? He somehow managed to conduct the worst potential coaching change (that ultimately wasn't a coaching change) embarrass the university nationally, and then give the national media even more fodder to run LSU into the dirt afterwards. Nice job. Amazing really

Yeah, I don't get the logic.

It could have been a lot worse.

Could be worse: we could be stuck with Kevin Sumlin.

An 8yo could have known that would happen. Alleva is a worse AD than Miles is a coach. By a long shot too. You dummies that wanted Miles gone should thank God this moron didn't get chance to hire his replacement

The worst part is that Les Miles stays as coach. Why'd you leave that part out?

You do realize that Alleva was just executing what the TAF folks were telling him to do. They pay Miles' salary but LSU has the "NCAA operating permit" so to speak so therefore King and Alleva have the last word to guard the LSU brand.

TAF can suck arse right now because they were the ones who proposed Fisher and failed in closing the deal. I suspect this was a few well placed "boosters" that are used to getting their way and they failed.

I was primed and ready for the change but somebody screwed up Contracts 101...

Don't worry. He doesn't. Les Miles and F. King Alexander run this department now. Alleva was effectively demoted last night.

My prediction is Miles will finish his contract, hopefully without interfering in the new OC's offensive planning and then take over as AD.

No, When are the tards on this board going to realize this was a completely TAF driven fiasco. When you go out and solicit one guy to be your next coach with no plan B that is a perfect example of meddlers trying to cut a deal on the side because they think they know somebody. Well they frickin failed yesterday and left King, Alleva, and Miles to clean this mess up. Meanwhile they are nowhere in sight.

I have been hearing this Jimbo Fisher crap for two years now because he has high placed friends in LA.

I might add that Jimbo Fisher is complicit in this as well. He and Sexton played TAF. Wonder how welcome he is at the hunting lease now...

Look at it bright side.

LSU got a lot of attention lately and apparently ended up doing right thing in country's eyes.
