This bowl matchup is about the worst case scenario

Tech has one of the worst rush defenses in college football. Les gets to come out, run the ball 45 times, and dominate a much less talented team on the line of scrimmage. All this will do is assure him that his offensive strategy works.
This is exactly what happened at the start of this season. We played teams that were vastly less talented than us on the line of scrimmage and dominated them. Then, when we faced teams with equal or better talent, we were not willing to adapt.
If Les was going to re-tool the offense (and that is a HUGE if) it's not going to happen after playing Texas tech. We'd be stupid not to feed fournette in this game. Unfortunately, our coaching staff doesn't understand that a game plan that is successful against one team won't necessarily be successful against other teams.
I would much rather be playing a team like Nebraska. A team with a good rush defense that will force us out of our comfort zone to get ready for next November.

You're operating under some notion that Les is swayed by results?
eta: time for a personal break. Our coach has made me cynical and bitter.

i'm kind of liking playing a team we have a good chance of beating.
if we drew a team with a bad arse front 7 we would probably get killed.

For whatever reason, Les likes to go air raid on teams with terrible run defenses. We hardly do what our opponent's weakness is (ex. We run up the gut on Bama but pass every first down against Texas A&M?)

run the ball 45 times
oh it'll prob be more than that. unless we're ripping off a bunch of long runs for TDs, which is possible against their D.
and he'll still look to re-tool some things (specifically with the passing game) going into next year.

So let me guess: you want LSU to abandon the run against a team with a crappy run defense and throw the ball all over the yard?
You want Miles to shelve the best running back in LSU history so you can see "offensive adjustments"?
You want LSU to throw a lot of passes but lose the game?
You want LSU to become the Saints?

Are you retarded? That's not even remotely what the OP was saying.

Sure, winning is always a good thing

This is exactly my point. We will face a team with a bad arse front 7 next year, and if we don't change we will have the same results. I would take a loss in this bowl game if it meant we would make changes going into next year.
The likelihood of Les making offensive changes is significantly lower after he rushes for 350 yards against a vastly inferior team.

First off you think that Les is changing anything to the offense in 15 or however many practices for the bowl game then you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
Secondly playing in a bowl game in 2015 will in no way affect what happens in November 2016. There will be different personnel and possibly coaches. The best thing you can hope for is a win for momentum going into the off season. Any offensive changes will occur then when you have the time and know exactly who and what you will have on your team.

Disagree, Fournette can probably get over 2000 yards now.

No you wouldn't

It's okay, reading is hard.

Sure I would. Hell, I'd take a bowl loss even if it meant we had a better chance at beating Bama, Arkansas, or Ole Miss next year. Why wouldn't you?

Because a bowl loss doesn't guarantee any of that and the off season would be even more unbearable than it is gonna be anyway.

A quick look at your post history says you've been this cynical and bitter for 10 years. Hasn't stopped you before.

I think Les knows running the ball for 4,000 yards on quite possibly the worst run defense in our solar system won't mean much to us.

if this is the best way to beat an opponent...why the hell wouldn't you do it?
this board is bizarro world sometimes

Me too. Just like Penn State, Clemson and Notre Dame.

Yeah, just get the W. That's football. Any person with common sense wants Les to just win. If that means be balanced, be balanced. If that means throwing more, throw the ball more. IF THE TEAM YOU'RE FACING IS SOFT AS A ROTTEN PEACH IN JULY, THEN RUN THE BALL 99.9999999999999999% OF THE TIME.
