Why must we always fall short? Fatalistic horseshite. Alabama has zero intrinsic advantages over LSU. We kicked the crap out of Alabama in the first half of the 2000s when we had the better coaches.

Has any team ever matched Alabama? How about currently, what team can match what Alabama has done over the past 10 years? The past 5 years?

The fact is no team can, LSU compares favorably to every other team in CFB but Alabama, every team in CFB falls short of Alabama currently.

I laugh at the "10" wins crowd. Only a "Common Core" graduate could subtract 3 from 12 and get 10.

Lol. You may want to revisit some basic mathematical principles. Your percentages are a bit off.

Same DC,Same OC, 5th year senior qb and their qb has been shitty at times. Arkansas led bama for 3 quarters and Ole miss beat bama.

I laugh at the people who choose to ignore the McNeese game because it didn't happen because of a stupid rule. That was an LSU rent a win and should have been played at a later date or rescheduled for the next day. McNeese would have been a win so for someone to say, "LSU could have been a 10 win team" is a correct statement imo.

I laugh at the posters that actually think we would've lost to mcneese.

Except their staff budget,
Recruiting budget, and their ad actually standing behind the coaching staff. Oh and there is that little edge of having the best coach of our generation.

10 win seasons meant something when they played 11 games and maybe one rent a win. Not as great now

From 2009-2013 4 programs out of 126 won at least 9 games every year. 99% of cfb program can't win 9 games every year. Sec games were added not cupcakes.

Brandon Harris was not ready to run the kind of offense you want to run.

I agree and I thought he was more ready than reality. This is not the offense necessarily that I want to run but what LSU needs to do in its current scheme. We ran most of this stuff when Mett was here.

I don't care what offense a team runs, you have to be able to analyze the other team and identify weaknesses or at least opportunities and exploit them. We did not even achieve the analysis part very well. It appeared this year that we just thought we could tough our way through.

#NextYearU
I think there is a clear delineation between fans of LSU before 2003, and fans since.

LSU is not a national powerhouse, not in the strictest sense. We are a GOOD program, that has been able to compete historically, but not the first school some casual fan in Wyoming would call the pinnacle. We don't have the history of Alabama, Ohio St, Michigan, Oklahoma, USC.
In the first decade of this millennium, we were able to overcome those programs. We beat Oklahoma and Ohio St for national titles. The ultimate fantasy for any LSU fan came true. In the process, we were able to catch and surpass Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. We've achieved as much or more than they have, and have remained consistently good while they have all floundered at times. But we haven't caught Alabama, not to where we can say we can beat them at their best.

Look at that statement objectively, and that's not a failing. Look at SEC basketball. A lot of teams have made memorable runs, including Florida winning 2 national titles. Is Florida the face of SEC basketball? Do you think they should be better than Kentucky at it's best, or is this still UK's conference? Because it's the same thing. Bama football, UK basketball.

Do you have to like or accept it? No. Does anyone outside of local homer fans think it will change? No. Should you be less of a fan because of it? I don't think so, and I will always support my Tigers. It isn't just about the wins, it's about LSU. Either that makes sense to you, or it doesn't. If you don't get it, you just never will.

this would have happened with a better head coach

Tip for next time.... Park in the back of Blue Lot. Stayed the whole game and it took less than 5 minutes to get on the freeway.

I would like to believe this will mean we advance to the promise land, but he is just not the answer. But in is defense, don't know if is Cam, Miles or both, but our offense always looks 'strained' does not have a good flow- nothing is easy!!

And Bama's situation is unique and unheard of form past years. What program before them had FIVE straight number one recruiting classes. Packing the program with five stars and four stars at just about all starting positions will cover up issues caused by changes in staff and a new QB.

Are you saying Alabama is the only team in America that can do this?

Then why do the rest of the teams even try anymore?

So regarding #1...if there was "no reason" for the two losses to OM and Hog...YOUR assessment... then WHY did LSU get blown the frick out in both games?

And what makes you so certain that similar losses will not continue?
