LSU's defense will more than carry its' weight, the O-line is improving and will be sound, Burrow will be steady and accurate at QB. LSU's Running backs will get respectable yards, but the four people LSU will most depend on in 2018 will be the receivers. LSU's season basically comes down to these four guys, three WR's and one TE. You are welcome to pick your four players who will determine the season, for me it's LSU's receivers.

Just know this, LSU could have Drew Brees behind center, and it wouldn't matter, if the receivers don't get open and catch the ball. Since LSU's fortune will be so more dependent on the pass, these are the four likely guys who hold LSU's 2018 football season in their hands. Kinda blows your mind doesn't it?

1. Ja Marr Chase WR Freshman
2.Tarrace Marshall Jr. WR Freshman
3.Jonathan Giles WR Junior
4. Foster Moreau TE Senior

Drake Davis could be in the mix, however at the moment LSU can't depend on that, LSU's season basically comes down to the above four guys. Will be interesting to see what 4 players LSU fans choose. LSU can beat anybody, if its WR's step up, I'm convinced of that.

I would think some of the thoroughbreds on our defense will help determine our season as well.

So 3 WR’s and 1 TE are going to determine the ENTIRE football season, and how well we play? This is absurd.

Steve Ensminger and by virtue Ed Orgeron will determine the fate of this football team.

All the talent is there. If you have talent and you don't win big then you aren't a good coach.

If our success depends on freshmen, our football program is certainly in trouble.
What other programs (like Alabama) link their success to the performance of freshmen?

No, it's not really crazy. Don't you agree LSU can depend on its defense, its' QB and O-line is improving? Running backs won't be what saves LSU's season, it will be the receiving corp, but which ones?

The entire season isn’t going to come down to the WR’s. I didn’t put any defensive players there because there proven. The coaching, specifically on offense, and Burrow are the biggest things for this team. That’s what the season comes down to. The entire teams succes isn’t going to come from 3 WR’s.

The x factor at this point is obviously the offensive line. If the offensive line improves from last year this will be a good to great team. If it regresses from last year we will be mediocre.

LSU might win a few games with it's stout defense, but the majority of it will rely on the passing and receiving. Unless fans believe LSU's defense is stout enough to shut the majority of it's opponents out!

Ridley was an impact player as a freshman and they started hurts his true freshman year.

If you're looking for examples of programs that don't depend on freshman to make big contributions you'll want to look somewhere else.

We lost 2 corners to the NFL. I wouldn't count your chickens yet.

I agree the offense will have to prevail. I think it will be a testament to Burrow first of all, and then Ensminger. Maybe throw in 1 WR there, but it doesn’t all hinge on WR’s. Burrow and the playcalling will be a bigger factor than them. With that said the WR’s are very talented though.
