My wife and I got married on October 10th of this year. When she originally planned the wedding, the date was scheduled for October 9th. I told her the day needed to be moved becuase it was the day of the Florida game. She balked. I told her well if the date is not moved to the 10th, I may not be there. Date was moved to the 10th.

So you're the guy that screwed up the SAINTs that day. They lost to the Cardinals you know . Thanks a lot. Looks like they weren't the only loser that day!!!

jk congrats

Just have the damn thing in the Spring or Summah

I lucked out of this conversation because she wants a Spring wedding anyway...and we might have a destination one as well.

have an event during the ULM or Mcneese St game

a slightly better option than the bye week

ave the event during the away Florida or Auburn game

not an option. those are worthwhile SEC games.

I've had friends and family get married on game days. I didn't go.

Fall is football time. Winter, spring, and summer is wedding time.

My wife and purposely scheduled our wedding around the LSU football season.

We will even try to plan child birth around LSU football season.

This year I am in a different pickle. My son could be born any day now. Wife is due today, and I have a gut feeling he will be born saturday during the LSU Auburn game. Please pray for me.

You have taken it too far.

I have told my family that if I die during football season that the funeral should not interrupt the tailgating.

50% of weddings scheduled on LSU gameday end in divorce. The other 50% end in murder. Fact.

Dude.....I got married on the LSU/Auburn game in 2004....

My wife was looking for dates, and I said it had to be away game or bye week.

game was 2:30 game, me & my boys got boozed out while watching and I got married at 7. Although we were all pissed with the phantom call on the extra point kick....

All three of our kids understand this fact, and will not be scheduling on a Saturday during FB season. The rest of my family and friends are on their own. They understand I won't be there. period.

My wife's BFF is getting married on Nov 6. My wife got pissed that I told her to have fun while I am in BR.

Any good woman would schedule after baseball season and before football season.

You are high if you think I attend family/friend events on a gameday. Had whole family thanksgiving dinner the day of the Arkansas game at a place they rented 2 years ago. No TVs. I made up some bullshite about a research paper and stayed in BR.

I am getting married next Saturday. As an upstanding LSU Fan I had to revolved my wedding ceremony around gamedays and schedule it on a bye week.

It's still BS to schedule it during a bye week for 2 reasons: (1) for one weekend out of the fall, it's nice to relax at home and not worry about tailgating, watching/attending the game, or traveling anywhere; (2) you can have an incident like in '08 when LSU's originally scheduled bye week ended up being a make-up game for Troy.

(2) happened to me. Was told TVs would be set up for the game but that was a lie.

I had to give up tickets to a game because my aunt was getting married. Still didn't miss anything because I watched it on my cell phone.

It should be against Louisiana law to have anything on a Saturday during football season, or on a weekend(Fri-Sun) during regionals/Supers/CWS , that does not directly benefit LSU. So..if you're not tailgating you should be breaking the law.
