There's a basketball game TODAY at 4:00 PM and I feel like no one knows about it.

Get your asses in that building!!!

Look for DEFENSE!
In a recent press conference Wade said he's spending more time on defense in practice than he ever thought possible. He specifically said 85/15 defense/offense ratio in practice.

Love this guy. Let's support him!

Wilmington loves to run and shoot 3s so it's going to test how far they've come in a short period. They also have a big guy averaging like 19/12 or something.

Wade said we're going to have to live with opponents hitting jumpshots for now. He basically is giving that up at the moment to stop dribble penetration. He has simplified things since the first couple of games to say the least.

I'll be watching from SECN+. That was a great presser WW gave talking about the defense. Looking forward to seeing the on-court improvement.

It's because LSU feels the need to take a lengthy break at exam time. The last time LSU played a game was nearly two weeks ago! Couple that with the fact they are playing a weak home OOC schedule and the casual fan quickly loses interest.

I guess Wade gets a break because there aren't great expectations for this year's team, but LSU MUST start scheduling better. Once again, the home OOC schedule sucks. With over a month long break between the end of football season and the bowl game the basketball program misses a GREAT opportunity to build some interest/excitement by playing home games that draw interest from casual fans. That's just not going to happen when you play the UNCW's, UT Martin's and Sam Houston State's of the world.

In college basketball there aren't a lot of consequences for scheduling tough games. In fact, there is a huge benefit for doing so (even if you lose some of those game). LSU basketball could really build excitement going into SEC play in January by having 1 or 2 home games vs. power conf. opponents in December without having to compete with football for the headlines.

Wade will schedule better OOC games as he builds up our talent in the next 2-3 years. He has said this in public.

It would be senseless to have scheduled 5-7 top OOC teams this year as those games would most likely have to have been played away and would have most likely resulted in a total collapse for this particular team.

This schedule is exactly appropriate for this team, imo. And my wife and I will be there today as always.

yea, he pretty much said earlier this year that the schedule is perfect for this group of guys, aka our team is not ready for primetime yet (see ND game). i respect him for that.

really looking forward to the schedule in the coming years though.

It’s pretty new. I think it will be somewhere near Mike’s habitat. I’ll warn you, while there is a lot of scoring it can be fairly boring for some observers. Alcohol helps.

Coach Wade said he'll be out until after Christmas, which was expected. They play @Memphis on 12/28, then at home against Kentucky on 1/3. It's basically a guessing game at this point.

If Sampson returns healthy and strong, what kind of chance do you think we have at a tourney invite?

How much of this season’s schedule was already under contract from the Jones regime?

i'd like us to at least be .500 in conference. no telling what the bubble looks like at the end, but i wouldn't count on anything but a possible NIT. that would be a tremendous improvement from the dumpster fire last season.
