In fairness to recruiting, it's not a great year in LA, 2019 will be and a lot of schools will be coming in for next year's talent.

Troy was inexcusable. The biggest reason for the Miss St loss was breaking in a lot of new talent on defense and a coach in Mullen who know how to exploit it, that is the one game I would have loved to play again.

Until LSU gets better QB play, they will not contend for SEC west or SEC title or Playoffs with Bama in the way.

Yes...ultimately I think this will fail...but I leave open the slim possibility (and one I hope for since I'm a fan first) that it might miraculously work out.

That's all...

A simple, "I'm not only wrong but I'm behaving like a dickhole," would have been a better post.

Asked and answered, only to have you pretend I did not and ask an unrelated question as if you're being forced to ask it again.

No. I think I'll pass.

I've spent far more time than you deserve given your behavior in this thread spelling out how it's perfectly reasonable to understand that the process of hiring Orgeron is and always will be a separate thing to whether or not he ultimately works out. Literally any smart 10 year old can understand the concept of the ends not justifying the means.

I've also explained, ad naseum, what he would have to do to have me say that ultimately he was a successful coach at LSU and that I was wrong, so continuing to declare that no one will ever be happy is, again, a made up declaration by you.

Either you're being an a-hole, or are too stupid to reason with. I may continue to respond for the frick of it, I'm but I'm going to attempt to honestly explain shite to you directly, because you're either unwilling to accept what you're being told is the counter augment or unable to comprehend what you're reading.

Fair enough. Like I said it's not a big deal. My only point is that there are plenty on here that are adamant O will fail. I also see some ridiculously optimistic views of his current or projected performance.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I see positives, but also areas of concern. The question is, which prevails? 2018 will be a monumental test. If the HC et al. can adjust to the big changes in offensive personnel and navigate an extremely tough schedule I will be very impressed.

My mistake is getting drawn into these discussions, but it's like a car wreck. Too hard to look away.

This is a lazy statement.

Most that criticize Orgeron or have limited faith in his ability to perform at his job long term do so because of his track record, which is a matter of the facts, not our personal opinions.

In fact you're doing the same thing that you're accuse us of. You want Orgeron to succeed because you like him, which is fine, you can do what you want and I'm not damning you because of that. But my position is based on facts/empirical evidence and yours is based on emotion and anecdotes.

I'm content to go in to 2018 with that but with a cautious eye given O's lack of pedigree.

I call bullshite on this. He has as impressive a pedigree as there is. Pete Carroll lobbied for him. He lost at Ole Piss but, as we now know, you can't win there without cheating.

I've never seen a team rally and fight their way back like this one after the Troy loss. O is an upgrade.

Very nice breakdown. I feel almost exactly the same way and you said it well. (Except I think the word hyperbole would have been better than exaggeration in your 2nd to last paragraph, but that's really being nit-picky.)

You are correct. Hyperbole would have been a MUCH better word choice.

Alas. Friggin thread is degrading into a pissing contest of people making declarations of "fact" where only opinion resides.

Right. But the purpose of this place is conversation, and that's only really possible if a few key things are followed, mostly because this is all done anonymously. Most importantly, I think, is to act in an honest manner. I'm not being a character here, I don't type out things here I don't actually believe just to piss someone off or to get a reaction. Things I post MAY do both, but they are my honest opinions. I also don't put words in anyone's mouth when arguing with them, and the only time I re-ask anyone a question is if I genuinely do not understand what they meant. I want to convey my thoughts and am genuinely interested in learning the thoughts of others. And if we disagree, and the other poster is interested, I'm happy to argue the question with them...and am happy for it to get heated, so long as all the above still apply.

That's why everyone could see that Rob and I had no issues in this thread even though we disagree on many fronts. Because when I answered a question of his, he read it and accepted what I typed and felt no need to pretend I'd said something else to try and make a point. It's a fairly easy concept, really.

Now...if you're here for another reason, then fine. But I'm not going to bother typing out genuine answers for someone who doesn't really take the conversation seriously enough to make it possible to actually have one. This has nothing to do with agreeing or disagreeing with you, merely your tact in this thread and others like it.
