LTU and ULL should’ve never left the south land. They could have just focused on being a dominant force in the FCS like North Dakota State.
It costs way too much to really be elite in the FBS and neither school has the funds or support to do that. They’d be so much better off at the FCS level. They’d both get more support from instate as well because people wouldn’t see them as a conflict of interest with LSU

It’s always fun when seeing ‘Louisiana’ used exclusively in broadcasts, etc, with a bunch of UL references thrown in by commentators, and realizing that it’s making a bunch of stupid arse pussies like you go nuts.

Anecdotally I see a lot more hate from LSU fans directed at UL fans than vice versa. Most UL fans I know are also LSU fans

I expect mcneese and southeastern to be the next to make the jump from fcs. The southland eventually may be restored. Ull and la tech have had better success but will likely never be able to compete with LSU on a consistent basis. They really are and always will be state schools not so much different than the other former southland schools from which they came.

I never have understood their insistence on being called Louisiana. If they really want to stand out and have their own identity they should call themselves University of Lafayette.
