I still can’t get over that one. The fricking dudes forward progress was stopped. The shite should have been blown dead

When you look at the sideline view the QB even gave up after the first push, he just laid there with people on top of him, he had no way of advancing.

But the refs just allow his teammates to come in and push him over the goal line instead of blowing it dead like it should have been.

We all know if that was us it would have been blown dead in 2 seconds

Yeah that shite was egregious, not sure how it’s gotten largely ignored

This has always been a pet peeve of mine, not just in sneak/goal line situations but any pile moving run.

If the runner fumbled in that situation they will blow it dead and say forward progress was stopped 99 times out of 100, even if the fumble was clearly before the whistle.

But they will give them every inch they move forward even beyond any reasonable amount of time where it should have been blown dead.

He physically went backwards.

Absolutely gifted points.

I normally disagree with the all the pitching about the officiating, but this one is a legitimate gripe. It looked wrong in real time and worse on replay. I wonder how long it would have taken for them to actually blow the whistle.

I am far from the biggest LSU homer on this board. That said, every 50/50 call, every time there’s any input from an outside influence, i.e. referees, it will go against LSU this season. The code red has been ordered and Sankey is dragging his nuts across LSU right now. Expect more of the same bullshite.

They were dead set on not blowing it until he got in the endzone one way or another

The refs were literally running in towards the pile. Forward progress was absolutely stopped. Then, they let them keep going. Egregious.

I am not a big ref conspiracy guy but bear in mind that by human nature bias exists and in football often to the home team or the overwhelming favorite. I was suspicious though last night when the announcers called the punt return good before any replay was initiated and they were empatic about it. That ruling would have stood either way dependng on whether called in or out.

I’ve posted about several times, but under Baker, if LSU is on defense for the final drive of either half, they’re giving up points at a staggering rate. I don’t remember the exact number, but it’s 75-80%.

It’s the worst his defenses perform, and it’s been a constant here.
