Dumb arse, today is the first time this year that the pitching was not solid.

I love threads like this that really showcase people's lack of baseball knowledge.

You're not helping your argument any.

My take on Katz is basically this--He's good; it's good that LSU has him; but on a great team he would be more of a supporting cast type of player rather than the guy expected to carry the load.
who knows. I'd say he did pretty well as a 1st year starter last year.
If he builds on that season he very well could be a catalyst for us.

STFU or get out. Take your pick.

You're a fricking idiot. Are you going to show your face when they host a regional?

How bad is this team?
From the advocate:
Mountaineers milestones
Appalachian State’s victory over the seventh-ranked Tigers was just its second against a ranked team in the past 30 years.

The showing this weekend sucks. It's baseball and, unfortunately, these things do happen. I'm not hitting any panic buttons. My main concern about this team was at the plate, not on the mound, and that's still the case. I think they'll come around.

Losing I can handle, it happens in baseball. But to be that pathetic at the plate against that competition? Unacceptable.

Guess i just dont see the point in freaking out so early in the season over 2 bad days. I have a feeling bumping this thread in a few months will be fun

You pretty much routinely make excuses for Paul and co. where as you don't seem to do that in football. Why is that ?
Posted on 2/26/12 at 11:04 pm to BilJ
What excuses am I making? If this team still doesn't look good in late March/early April, I'll be right there with everyone trying to figure out what we need to do next. I'm just not over emotional about an early season baseball series. Its not like football, its a long season. We need to be close to if not hosting a regional this year. I've never said otherwise. But I'll let it play out. The man took the program from the ashes and built it back up quickly. He gets this year to rebuild it again. What irrational criticisms have I had about football? Not a huge fan of Les as a coach, but I didn't blame him for anything this year other than the whole Lee/JJ ordeal

I'm not saying this one series is a reason to flip , but the past few should be a reason for concern and considering many thought this was a big weakness going into the season and it's already reared it's head against a much inferior opponent, I think maybe it's ok to be pretty concerned.

Why is this thread anchored?
Concerned is fine, but the blanket statements considering replacements for PM or the lack of talent on the team, or what to do after the season is over is premature. I didn't bash or criticize anyone for being concerned. But I'm also not going to be too concerned. Every team has games like this, guess I've just seen it too much.

We have to have a couple of guys that can hit it out of the park to win. Our pitching is going to be good this year, but our hitting has to do way better and it looks like last years hitting thus far. We need doubles and HRs every now and then. Ask Mitchell, Clark, and Dean what we're lacking. I'd be shocked if we have 2 guys w/ more than 10 HRs this year.
