Believe it or not, the one guy that seems to be in LSU's corner? Finebaum.

you correct as there is no such thing as a unified "media". but to say there is no such thing as a flop is ludicrous. it seems that you are the one with your head in the sand.

You mean to tell me that you don't even remember Miles saying that?

Yeah, you remember "the Big Ten is dead" after week 2 in 2014?

IDGAF what anyone thinks. All I care about is the program moving forward. Miles being fired was the first step. Great guy but he needed to go.
On to step 2- finding the right man for the job.

That has nothing to do with it. The media is all bout what sells.

But yeah, we gonna take a hit if the team plays poorly. You think Ga. hasn't or isnt taking some hits? That's simply to be expected when you fire a coach who won as much as Miles.

Who cares bout the media anyway. Very few of them have a sports IQ over 100. imo

Lets win and more on.

So the media will assault LSU if we play sloppy and lose under the interim HC?

Have they seen LSU play under the guy we just fired?

For years and it was not sloppy and certainly was not as bad as 90% of the negatigers make out.

You mean like having an entire quarter of 3 and outs...or when you cant score a TD in the second half or like when you only score 13 against a shitty Auburn team...or like when you get shut out vs Arkansas....

frick the media....firing Miles was the right call. They loved him becuase he was so charming despite barely being over .500 that last 3 years in SEC Play..

again...frick the media

It was bad...if you dont see that, then you were part of the problem last year when you cried to keep Miles

Get ready for what? Are they going to come to my living room? I'm only a fan. I'm not playing Saturday.

You mean if LSU plays the same way it has already done so this season?

the only way we can shut them up is our on the field play.
Disagree. You're acting like Orgeron is LSU's new hire. Once LSU brings in a new coach and he has a whole offseason to implement his system, then you will have the media waiting to see if things are different than they were with Miles. Right now you are overstating things by a mile, pardon the pun.

My question will be would we have done anything different under Les's command?

i don't think the media cares that much. sure...they'll probably mention it, but i don't think its going to be an all out assault like you seem to be implying

whatever builds interest

UGA was smart 3 weeks

The gameday miles interview will be tough, and a college football is too mean of a business ignoring the money he is making

doesn't matter - we were head for the iceberg and instead of saying lets ram it with the SS Miles we are trying to turn course. That Iceberg still might sink us, but atleast we are trying

ESPN will forget all about Les Miles the second they can become SJW's and need to focus on their social agenda. The network has changed--and not for the better!

How would playing sloppy vindicate Miles? Sloppy play is the epitome of a Les Miles team, especially the last 2 1/2 seasons. It might take a little while for the players to become disciplined and execute properly. One thing is for sure and that is they will come out fired up and energized.

Yes.

quote:

many want Miles as the hero and LSU as the villain.

Yes. Others don't care if there's a hero, they just want a villain, and preferably the biggest one they can get. LSU is bigger than Miles, so guess who's it?

quote:

the only way we can shut them up

There is no way to shut them up. They will follow their narrative regardless of what actually happens. The narrative, as usual, is that LSU is somehow evil or unreasonable or whatever. That won't change no matter what we do on the field, or off it for that matter.

The "[X media outlet] hates LSU" meme is not just a groundless conspiracy theory. It is a slight mischaracterization of a very real thing. The media don't hate LSU, but they LOVE anything negative and LSU just happens to be a favorite target of theirs because we give them material by underachieving. Funny because that's exactly the problem that we're trying to solve in this drama and they are going to hammer us for trying to solve it just as much as they hammered us the last few years for NOT solving it.

There is no winning with the media. They are morons and vultures. They care absolutely nothing about truth, logic, ethics, etc. They care only about drama and conflict, and they will create it out of pure bullshite if they have to.

The only way to approach it is to ignore them and don't let their stupidity get to you.

We all hope the change is good, but this is a quick change that could go wrong for many reasons. If that happens then we wait for the new coach to fix things.
