First, both gave us National Championships and O gave us the greatest season ever. Even then, the fan hate was high for both at the end.

Kelly has great talent and the $$$ too compete but each year has been worse than the previous here. This year, he’s looking likely to lose the more games. He was paid and given the resources for the opposite. When donations collapse and seats are empty, the conversation about him moving on will be forced. It will all come down to how soon the buyout can be put together.

You’re thinking of Chizik maybe. Both he and O both got fired two seasons after winning their titles.

Les got fired after losing to auburn when the refs stole time off the clock.

Here we are now getting outplayed by Vanderbilt. A non football school.

Yet they got half the amount of hate on them by the fanbase towards the end

That's because 98% of this board was convinced the "adults" are now in charge. Les and Ed were both thought to be the wrong choice by at LEAST half the fan base. It was more like 70% for Orgeron.

The higher the pedestal the farther the fall.

This has been his whole career. He doesn’t beat good teams consistently. He is simply not an elite coach and never will be. Terrible hire.

This is absolutely true.

Emotion just makes most fans prisoners to the moment.

I guess since we have 4 conference games left that’s reasonable. It’s going to have to be a win against Arky - the others are a bridge too far !

It was pretty toxic here for Les and has been devolving since.

But I think likeability is playing a part in this one.
