Nuss has been patiently waiting his turn, so this bowl game is a great audition to see if he's got what it takes to be the starting QB. I don't expect to see another JD back there, but I do expect him to operate like a veteran by being able to read defenses, make good throws, check down to his second and third receiver, call audibles based on what the defense is showing and run with the ball when the opportunity presents himself. This golden opportunity is his for the taking.

I love JD so much, he's that dude for sure and I'll miss seeing him suit up one last time.

That said, I think the bowl game just got a lot more interesting. Very interested/excited to see what the next chapter of LSU football looks like under center. It's one of the reasons I had no issue w JD opting out.

Your expectations are WAY too high. QB, at this level, is an extremely difficult position to play. Nuss will need most of next year before he is consistently doing the things you expect, and that assumes he has the ability to be great.

What I would like to see is Nuss protected by a strong running game. I’d like to see a 55-45 Run-Pass, maybe 60-40. I want to see him hit his first read and occasionally his second. And throw the ball away if the second read isn’t obviously there. His second read should be a lot of dink passes that rely on the RB to make yardage. I’d like to see no interceptions and get rid of the ball to avoid sacks. 65% would be great.

this is Nuss' first game that is all his and where his play matters. it's huge to say the least.

I expect Wisconsin to use the A&m game plan to ball control and play keep away. JD didn't get going until the 2d half. it's going to be hard to get into an offensive rhythym if we can't get the ball back. I hope Diggs, williams and emery are healthy and ready to roll.

since we will need to run i might hope to see Emery Jones at the guard position with Heard at right tackle. IDK if we have a big center to play but since Turner is steady at snapping not even less likely to change the position, although you could argue that it doesn't make any difference with a new qb who is not used to him. i'll be very interested in watching this one.
