Why do people continue to post such ridiculous things. Anyone and everyone who wanted a ticket to the game last night could have gotten it. They were everywhere. Tons were listed on LSU marketplace for the last two days. I have season tickets and stayed the whole game but who the crap cares. I pay about $1,200 a year for two tickets. That is is not unreasonable. The simple fact is if you go to a game you can find someone selling tickets and you get to miss all the lovely TAF fees. Someone posted on here that a family of four would have to spend $1,000 to go to one LSU game. WTF? How many freaking Tiger Dogs are they buying?

I have plenty enough money to buy tickets but just don't feel I get my money's worth for three hours of entertainment. Sometimes the game was or is so frustrating. I'm just not paying it.

Maybe people who did not go to school there don't see it like this but it is a donation folks. You are not just paying to see football you are donating to the school via the football program.

That's your opinion but I don't think it holds a lot of water.
I can't afford $5-7 grand for season tickets. But I can afford $100 TAF fee and the $800 for my 2 season tickets in the upper East.
And last I checked, none of the students are paying that kind of money for seats and half of them bailed out at half.

Well whatever that's fine, but the market is commanding that price because people are paying it. Regardless of how many people are showing up. Until people stop paying, prices will continue to rise. However, you can buy the tickets to the less desirable games for really cheap. So if you can't merit spending $30-50/ticket, then you really don't care enough to go. Which is fine, that's your prerogative.

I think this may be a NCAA or SEC policy so LSU has no control of this,

It's not. It's an LSU specific policy. No other SEC teams sell alcohol at their stadiums but that is up to the individual school. West Virginia, for example, does sell alcohol in their stadium.

The root cause is complacency because we've been winners for 13 yeas now. When we suck for a few years, then interest will resume when we get good again.

Good point. From the Admin's perspective, % fans staying for the whole game is not a metric of concern, # of season tickets sold is.

IMO, after last night, the Admin should begin to address why so many fans leave early.

all good ideas but most of them would require lots of crappy louisiana construction work

Elect me governor and crappy louisiana construction will be a thing of the past. The reasons for Louisiana's inability to quickly finish DOTD projects is completely due to the way the state government contracts them. Also, although cost plus a percentage fee contracts (whatever the actual cost of the project is, the contractor gets paid that plus a profit percentage on top) are illegal for construction projects, they are legal and standard for construction feasibility studies. All the money that should be spent on the roads is spent to study them because there is no incentive to finish studies on time or on budget, and the projects take forever because there is no benefit for finishing ahead of schedule for the contractor.

I gave away 6 tickets last night. I couldn't even get $10 each for them. I agree tickets are high, but every week with very few exceptions you can get in the game for a reasonable price.
