LSU did nada to instigate the lawsuits but Ole Miss did tamper with a Clemson player that was already attending classes.
Did they get punished or did the SEC even acknowledge the fact? No.

The NCAA developed the NIL pay to play program for college sports and opened themselves to the obvious mess that they created by not properly investigating and codifying various problems and outcomes that were soon identified as major problems in the program.
Now that players have been harmed by those failures of the NCAA and went to the courts for relief, the NCAA did what they usually do, attempt to blame others for the mess they created with their new, incomprehensible and illegal NIL law.
The power universities in the SEC, Alabama and Georgia seized upon the obvious failures of the NCAA and their meddling oversight and used the NCAA to do their bidding and try and coerce another member to succumb and reduce the obvious advances that the minor university made in their football program to keep that program from gaining major status.
The shock of all shocks came when LSU actually showed some backbone and did not do what they did in the past ie the Will Wade debacle and actually stood its ground.
