You can’t be serious? One still shot of a WR and a half? The guy in the middle has his man beat unfortunately the screen is cut in half and can’t see 3 feet in front of him

You should show the stills of Bech running uncovered up the seem or Nabors uncovered on slants and drags over the middle.

Quick passing gets the ball in the hands of some elite playmakers. Get them the ball and good things can happen.

Bingo, Denbrock is very old school OC. Slow and methodical long developing routes.

Honest question because I really don’t understand the training that the OL needs at any level.

Hasn’t LSU had problems blocking people the last three or four seasons ? What’s the reason ?

Predictability, our run pass % was 20/80 last night.

correct. When Denbrock finally adjusted in the late 3rd quarter, our last 3 drives were long TD drives.

It astounds me that coaches see their team in practice for weeks and can't figure out that the OL is the weak point.

Even if Denbrock couldn't figure it out in practice, it was obvious to anyone watching the game after the first few possessions that the OL was bad, and long-developing pass plays and the traditional running game weren't going to work.

It took Denbrock almost 3 quarters to make a change. That's pathetic.
In a way, yeah. Responding to you and others at same time...

It wasn't necessarily about the routes that got things clicking. It was making the LBs back off. If we had forced them to back off earlier by attacking not just the middle but had been more effective in the flats (where we completed several only for the S to shut it down immediately because the pass was inaccurrate) they would have been unable to use those dog and other blitzs which also allowed them to confuse the shite out of our protection showing blitz and backing out.

They did to us what we wanted to do to them because we were ineffective at dictating to them right behind the LoS.

Once we went into hurry up it was more about them being in prevent at same time and not showing us those LBs in 2 gaps at a time.

Furthermore it was very easy for them to pick up on our slide protection between the TE, motion, and RB. This allowed those LBs to attack the slide side without having to wait on a read. At the same time they were disguising their man coverage very well because, again, we weren't attacking them enough in a wide enough area of the field. We ran almost no misdirection to scare them off of this. A couple of delayed releases by a TE or a RB chip-dumpoff would have made them think about that more at least.

So yes, we were too predictable but not in the traditional sense. We were too predictable in the sense that they knew where to attack the protection for maximum gain without having to protect against ______________. They weren't guessing plays. Just pre-snap reading where blocking wanted to go and attacked where weakest.

Daniels not seeing those WRs open, and it happened too much, is why we failed to attack in the right places. Many of those were between the hashes and would have at least changed pre- and post- snap position of at minimum 1 LB. That's one less dude 3 yds off the ball jumping around to confuse the assignments. They had no fear.

felt JD had happy feet which is somewhat understandable but flush out of pocket and keep your eyes down field instead of immediately running.

He really didn't settle in until late 3rd quarter. Before that, it looked like the game was moving too fast for him.

Campbell made some mistakes, which is exactly what you expect in a true freshman. I was disappointed in Wire's play. Seemed like pressure came from the right side most of the time.

The QB can’t throw. Either commit to the run game or last night is going to repeat itself all year long.

If they repeat scoring 3.3 points per possession (excluding the end of the first half), they will be doing just fine. That would have ranked in the Top 15 or so last year. The problem was lack of possessions because the defense couldn’t get FSU off the field on 3rd down.

Wire was on his arse all game and Bradford was a turnstile. I specifically watched the right side of the line sitting in the dome end zone and they were awful.

Excluding the end of the half, they had only 4 possessions prior to that, two of which ended in the red zone. One was undone by a bad snap and one by Boutte not looking for the ball at the end zone. It’s not like they weren’t moving the ball prior to the last three possessions. They just had a couple of bad plays and a general lack of possession because they couldn’t get FSU off the field.

I wasn’t arguing that. LSU still scored at a good rate despite poor OL play.

Not directed at you.

I would try Turner back at Center, put Dellinger back at RT and someone not a statue at RG
