My only problem is with the clowns who think MSU is mediocre, that team is going to win some games in the West. Last year's butt whooping wasn't a fluke at home, and we came back and beat them on the road.
We have 4-5 people between OL and RB that are going to play on Sundays very soon and we are playing a team that we want to keep there offense off the field as much as possible. The game plan was exactly what it needed to be.
Most upset on here know a lot about being a fan and nothing about playing or coaching football. But it's a fan board so no reason to expect something different

What hasn't Miles been given to be fricking successful at LSU
1. Top in state talent
2. Great fan base
3. Top facilities
4. Great recruiters.
5. Great alumni base

nah man. that concern is fine. it's when it's taken so far out of context that you're calling for people to be fired. speaking for players about wanting to transfer. screaming about coaches etc. it's fear ahead of the event. it's the intensity of that fear and negativity.
LSU goes 7-5 again this year? i'll think it's time for a change. right now we're 1-0.
let's wait and see.

Also, there was no rust in the first half, after not having played a game. You fail there as well. It wasn't rust that nearly cost LSU. IT was poor strategy in the second half.
Awesome but rust was never used as excuse. ...you dont have to be rusty to improve after a game. Hell in your scenario if you play a good game then you never improve cause you dont have to. Sound logic

And they are not really doing him any favors by holding him back.
It would be one thing if Harris didn't have talent to make the throws. He clearly does. The widely known hindrance on him was that he didn't know the playbook. By all accounts, he does now.
The reality is that interceptions just don't matter that much, certainly not enough to warrant limiting what your offense can do. No reason to handle Harris with kid gloves.

what the frick are you even talking about you little bitch. I've probably spent more money at LSU over the last 30+ years than you will make in your lifetime. If I haven't, then good for you.
that's pretty amazing and i'm really glad you've given so much to the university.
enjoy your day.

topwater… you haven't said anything too off kilter. you wanted more passes. i want more passes. you think lsu played too conservatively. i think lsu played conservatively enough.
i graded the team at a C. that's not positive. i just think the adverse doom gloom and negativity completely takes away from the season…
People are mad because they are tired of seeing the same dog and pony show year after year. Miss State is not very good. LSU outclassed them at almost every position, yet we can't put the inferior team away. I realize we had two TDs called back, but that doesn't excuse the play calling in the second half.
When was the last time LSU beat a ranked team comfortably? 2011?
I don't care if LF7 is the GOAT...you can't run him into 10-man stacked boxes again in again.
BALANCE. That's all we need. No team in the country can stop our running game if we force other teams to respect the pass.

No we didnt agree with everything at all. I yelled at the tv at the 2nd timeout. I even said you idiot. Being happy and not miserable about an outcome doesn't mean we are blind supporters. I have never said inprovement wasnt necessary. I just dont say fire the coach and we suck after a win

I love running the ball all over teams and breaking their will so I am a huge fan of a power running game. I would just like to be able to beat a defense with the pass when they sellout on the run. If we have to open up the offense to keep the defense on the field more and score more points won't that make them more susceptible to being worn down and run over in the 2nd half? Idk I am not a highly paid football coach but I think it just might work

my argument is that based on what we saw, i surmise that this team may only look like the same dog and pony show of last year. and by year's end may start to resemble the one of 2013. let's see how it plays out. if i'm wrong, i'll be screaming like youz guys.

agreed. hopefully the coaches get closer to it. i think we'll always be a run first team though.

Well IF AU plays like they did yesterday..... LSU could play like they did last night[conservative] and win easy...
color me shocked, we actually agree on this. In fact, I'll be very surprised if LSU doesn't win easily next game, as well as open it up more.

I saw a lot more positives than most on here I guess..
So did I. I honestly don't think most are bitching about the execution or ability. Peej, if you had been at that game, you would likely be furious as well. You could see it all unfolding in front of your eyes...and what was out there to be had that the cameras didn't catch. The problem with only throwing it 14 times was that their db's sucked, and Harris could have had a field day and put that game long away, despite the penalties. It was there for the taking. Yet Miles decides to go ultra conservative and let his defense win it, and it could have and probably should have bit him in the arse.

against a pretty good team
No they aren't. Time will tell, but I'd be shocked if they make a bowl game. They will have to win 2 conference games to do that. They aren't beating Alabama or Ole Miss (even at home) or A&M. Depending on where they play Auburn and Arkansas they may have a shot to win one of those games...and they play KY on the road, which may not be a gimme.

Maybe. But there is also something to be said about expecting relative excellence and not settling.
But there is also something to be said about curbing expectations depending on the situation ... on the road, with a lead, first game, there was plenty of proverbial shite that could have hit the fan had LSU gone all huck it chuck. What would the negatigers be saying if LSU kept the playbook wide open and B.H. throws a pick6 to lose the game?
Can anyone GUARANTEE a win had we played wide open? NO you cant! The fact is we got a win. Conversely Oregon, who is infinitely less conservative, is 0-1. Where would you rather be? These are facts no negatiger can refute.
Had this been against McNeese, I would be more receptive to the negatiger whining.... but this was solid. This has to do more with perspective than expectations.

I don't think I've ever said fire the coach. But I don't bite my tongue when I'm aggravated. I usually get shite off my chest on here when I'm aggravated and move on Sunday afternoon. I have a 24 hr rule

Keep up good fight. I gotta get ready to watch my team that usually ends up on other end of things.
