LMAO....you think!
Look, had you been at the game, you would understand. It was about as predictable as could be. There were literally wide receivers running free all over the place in the second half and it was obvious that Les would not allow Harris to throw the ball. He threw FOUR frickING TIMES...all on third down I believe. We knew it, State fans knew it, and obviously the State players and coaches knew it. It was as poor of a coaching job as I've ever seen, given the situation. Harris could have lit them up. The team deserved to win the game. Les Miles deserved to lose the game, and quite honestly, probably should have. There was a reason that a large group of us LSU fans AT THE GAME just sat there after the final TWO kicks sailed left and right.....there was no joy...no excitement.....there was mostly a "I can't believe what that hard-headed MF almost did to this team" belief.
I'm as loyal as a fan you will fine, and I spend my hard earned money travelling to most games. I have also been a loyal Les Miles fan. The players deserve better than that though, and so do we as fans. You say it's a win...what's the issue. I say Miles had to let THEIR kicker determine the outcome of the game, despite being significantly better than that team. As fournette himself said, it should not have came down to that.....I'd imagine if being honest, he would have went on to say that the players deserved better.

ou actually "enjoyed" watching that game last night?
Hell ya. High fives were all around after the win. Boohoo a close game makes me mad and i cant enjoy human emotion outside of dominance

topwater… you haven't said anything too off kilter. you wanted more passes. i want more passes. you think lsu played too conservatively. i think lsu played conservatively enough.
i graded the team at a C. that's not positive. i just think the adverse doom gloom and negativity completely takes away from the season…
except i really don't. this part is fun too. yay for arguing on the internetz!

So y'all were high giving? Means thee was a group of y'all? And y'all were positive throughout the second half with our play calling? Must have been with all women

Nail on the head. It's a great day. I might even have a smile on my face as I'm mowing my damn lawn.

Nothing you are saying here is particularly new or original. Is it sad some may not appreciate what it was like in the 90s? Maybe. But there is also something to be said about expecting relative excellence and not settling.
The man gets paid somewhere between 4 and 5 million a year and has an unbelievable amount of resources at his disposal. If people invest time and money into a hobby that is at its core irrational anyway, I don't see a reason to fault them for getting worked up about underperformance.
The overall second half decision making was embarrassingly bad from a coaching standpoint and it follows a very familiar pattern for LSU fans. I won't fault them for being pissed about it.

except you're not loyal at all. you grade the players and the fans. but leave the coaches out of it. like you think they don't want to win. that they're doing it out of spite to you.
additionally, you think you deserve anything at all. you deserve nothing. you didn't play. even if you used to play, that gives you no quarter. you are a passive person watching something. the thing you so seek was four hours of enjoyment of an activity. hundreds of hours waiting for that activity in anticipation. a thing to do on a saturday night in a boring world. a reason to congregate with people you love and share food and drink. AND…
something to argue about and someone to argue with on a message board the next day whilst you are a work. i think you've gotten everything my man.

You are crazy as hell if you think Miss State is a legitimate top 25 team. They will be extremely fortunate if they make a bowl game this year. Fact.
Also, there was no rust in the first half, after not having played a game. You fail there as well. It wasn't rust that nearly cost LSU. IT was poor strategy in the second half.

I was there.
I was also there when Mettenberger made his first start, which was pretty similar. Once the coaches gain more confidence in Harris they will open up the play calling just like they did for Mett

alas my friend, more knowledge and perspective dropped.
i don't fault people for being disappointed or even critical. the heart of this post comes more from the outliers and as a general talking point.
this thread will likely go twenty pages. enjoy your posts.

Well some act like we have the worst fanbase in the country because we are concerned we almost lost. I think any great fanbase with a great team sets high expectations and wants them to perform well. Hey I'm happy you were able to high five after the game. I was doing it during the game but honestly I was just relieved he missed the FG.

that and the prospective improvement between defacto game 1 and game 2 couple with auburn's weak team says blowout. we'll see though. i'll be happy with a W.
Well IF AU plays like they did yesterday..... LSU could play like they did last night[conservative] and win easy......... I saw a lot more positives than most on here I guess... So what that we only threw it 14 times... It was the 1st game on the road with a true soph at QB making his 2nd start against a pretty good team and WON THE GAME....

what the frick are you even talking about you little bitch. I've probably spent more money at LSU over the last 30+ years than you will make in your lifetime. If I haven't, then good for you.
Not once have I bashed the players, they played their asses off. LES MILES was a joke last night. I'm getting a very sneaky suspicion that you have something vested in Les Miles. No way you can defend that pathetic performance he put on in the second half last night, without being vested to him. Have a good day.
