The NFL is very fortunate fantasy football exists because half these people wouldn’t even watch it if it didn’t.

Stupid rules. Poor officiating. Selfish play. Lack of credibility. Roger Goodell.

NFL lacks passion & the atmosphere that you see in college, that’s what did it for me & I can’t watch anymore. Plus with all the rule changes entitled players that get the money & stop caring. Nothing beats college football

Started losing my passion for it a while back. Maybe I just hate Goodell...I don't know.

You’re saying most of New Orleans are Alabama fans ? Which is most certainly not true

When plays are reviewed in slow motion & the verdict is still wrong...here’s proof.

It’s become very common with apologies to follow. Here’s your sign.

Inexcusable.

I can't put my finger on it, but the NFL just isn't my jam anymore. By and large, the college game is more entertaining. I like to see our Tigers do well, but I can't get locked into the pro game very often.

No. Literally all I’m saying (Or at least trying to say) is that FOR ME as a bigger lsu fan (by a large large margin) than a saints fan, it brought me happiness knowing that any Alabama fans who were also Saints fans had a terrible, terrible football weekend.

Again, this thread is solely about how the NFL doesn’t do it for OP. I tend to agree. I’m such agreement, I thought I ‘d share an anecdote showing that I was happy that my own home town NFL team lost to their rivals because it meant that Alabama fans from Louisiana (or, to put it another way Saints&Bama fans) had 0 football happiness that weekend.

"Players" getting paid millions upon millions constantly complaining gets old. Anybody want to get $5 - 20 Million for just one year in their life to play a "game"??
League gotten beyond commercialized and obscenely expensive too.

You must not have watched the blown call on the Patrick Peterson interception in 2009.

There was a ref right on the spot who could have had his view blocked by another player, but when review didn’t overturn that call I knew the Bama fix was in for SEC & their refs.

The NFL is just commercial garbage trying to make as much money as it can. Its like a shitty realty TV show. The college game feels so much more pure. The games seem to just matter.

For me there is less commodore with a NFL team. What you have in common with other fans is generally being from a similar region which is a lot weaker connection than having had gone to the same university and suffered through the same classes with fellow fans.

I've felt this way for years, you are not alone.

To me it comes down to these things:

1. The NFL is the same game, same plays over and over. There isn't a TON of different schemes in the NFL. Think about all the different type of Offenses that are run in college football.

2. The tradition, history, rivalry, passion and atmosphere that surrounds a college football game blows away the sunday experience.

It's all about perspective. Really, how important is football anyway. I quit following the pros years ago. Have found stopping LSU football more of a challenge.

The NFL is just a garbage product now. They refuse to get their calls right in a professional league.
They have the ability and technology but not the desire. Take from that what you will.

During football season, it was not unusual for me to watch the cox broadcast of the HS game on Friday, all day Saturday NCAA with focus on LSU and SEC, all three NFL games Sunday, NFL Monday night, and free Thursday NFL games. Didn’t have NFL network.

I boycotted the NFL while the kneelers kneeled. Saints too.

After the kneeling trash was taken off the TV, I watch the Saints only. Haven’t watch a game since the Saints lost. Don’t know who won or lost since. Don’t know who’s even playing. Don’t care. I still go to Super Bowl parties, but I socialize with the non-game watchers and miss all of the game including the commercials.

Never been happier. The NFL lost a multi decade fanatic who buys beer and cars! F ‘em.
