You aren't serious. We don't cheer for losses. Try again.
I'm guessing he meant that a loss gives Negatigers the perfect opportunity to turn their bitching level up and gives them more "reasons" to fire Les.

so you're saying that if you're an LSU fan that didn't attend LSU you're poor. real nice, Rag.

Hell, look at Big Lee's Towing. I doubt that guy even attended highschool, yet he is the biggest LSU fan in Metairie.

And people wonder why no one reads newspapers anymore. It's based on a theory of writing so outdated, its based on the technology of the telegraph (the pyramid structure exists in case the cable got cut -- you'd have all of the info you needed up front). Writing a longform magazine style piece requires a different style than news article style. Mainly because news articles are written in a way that is almost unbearable for anyone with a high school education.
But I will note the attack on style and format is not an attack on content. It is just a way to make an ad hominem attack on the author (who, admittedly, is making an ad hominem attack on a large swath of the fanbase, so turnabout is fair play).
I personally believe that anyone who use the terminology of positiger/negatiger/realitiger should be stabbed in the neck with a spork. You want bad writing, it's using those bizarre linguistic amalgamations. Drop the prefix, we're all Tigers.

I agree that Warner is in over his head when he tries to write a piece in this style. However, what I don't agree with is that there is no value to sports writing as good literature in the right context. Not all sports writing must be done in acordance with the basic rules of structure taught in fundamental English composition classes, the purpose of which is to drag people from illiteracy into basic writing competence. If you can find them, go read some of Herbert Warren Wind's writing in "The New Yorker" on various major golf tournaments, the Masters in particular. It's priceless.
man, you are writing WAY over our heads here .. could you dumb this down a bit ?

Would that include Negatigers that are also English professors? That would be the worst.

The problem is the piece is riddled with errors that a HS student would be able to catch.
THAT is the problem.

Putting aside the problem that newspapers have become, even on their "news" pages, apologists for whatever political point of view will boost their readership, people don't read "good" newspapers because they can't be bothered with detail. If it can't be captured in 10 words or fewer, it must not be relevant. Who cares about the knowledge necessary to an informed judgment? It's just so much noise compared with a photo of Lindsay Lohan's most recent arrest. Newspapers have become a dinosaur of a business model, and as they depart, so does the potential for an informed populace. It's all about the sound bite.

This whole negatiger theme is retarded. Without the negatigers bitching WE'D STILL BE "STUCK IN THE 90's"!
Was it bad to demand greatness when we absolutely sucked? NO
Is it bad to demand greatness when we are good yet obviously inconsistent and in the shadow of our division rivals (and yes I used plural - hello A&M)? NO
If ALL we had was sunshine pumpers and no Paul Revere's, we still have fricking Curley Hallman.
You're welcome.

I don't really mind that he's a poor writer. But, his silly article calls out a large chunk of the fan base, and paints them with a very large brush. Any questioning of Miles = instant negatiger status. Though I think we are doing exactly what Mr. Warner wants; we are keeping this thread going and talking about his article. Well played Mr. Warner.

the so-called "negatigers" were the fans that said "frick this shite" and stopped going to home games in the hallman era and forced joe dean's hand to fire him ... then the "negatigers" did the same to gerry dinardo after his brilliant replacements of carl reese and morris watts ... so, in essence, the "negtigers" were the ones that told the administration that they wanted better .. and on came nick saban ..

maybe i should have emailed that to maize&blue tiger to have him write it for me ..
