Wow, you went through all that trouble to post this. And you talk about the USC obsession on this board.

I am glad you posted the video, a lot of people take things as fact without ever being able to see for themselves what really happened
Me too. Thanks Tang. I ha always heard the facemask was "phantom". I was not at the game. First time I've seen it and it looks legit.
The Offsides on the defense is another topic. For another day.
Do you have the whole game?

PROVE to me that that series of pictures is from the play in question.
The video is certainly the play in question. It was 4th down, and that is Benji Thibodeaux.
That's ok -- they were never the same after that year. We kicked their asses in the Coliseum in I think '83 or '84. We have 2 crystal balls. They have one.

Nice 5th grade name calling.
Once again must I remind you...you do not have the right to call anyone out on this...

Man, it is time to let it go. It was a correctly called facemask penalty and more than enough evidence has been provided. For you to deny it would make you the equivalent of the OJ Simpson jury.

I will let it go when I see the video, until its a grainy pic...I was there at the game and like NC Tigah watch replays they had at the time and it looked bad and I'm not giving anything to LSUObsessedarine until it proven beyond a doubt...if indeed I will give him his due on this one but until then...

He has the video posted. Looks pretty clear to me.

Great images! Looks like Chester Thibodeaux was indeed responsible for a facemask. I wasn't at the game but I hear it was an amazing spectacle. I believe I read where during USC's practice preparations, Robinson had huge speakers playing music full blast to duplicate the LSU fan noise. Robinson and the players apparently felt that there was so comparison to the loud rowdy crowd.
Thanks for posting those Tangerine! I'm curious, were you at the game? What did you think of Tiger Stadium if you happened to be there that day?

Ok that was the first time I've seen it that clear and yes I would have thrown the flag too...however with that said why don't you post the time sequence showing the line moving which would have nullified everything we just watched?

If the glove don't fit then you must acquit!

That video is about on par with the Rodney King video.
Leave out the first crucial moments so the masses in LA can justify their crying and hooliganism.
pshaw!

30 years ago. Now let's put this in perspective:
How many presidents have we had?
How many college games have been played in thirty years?
How many facemasking and false start penalties were issued in thirty seasons with all those games?
With all of the fantastic wins and success that LSU Football has enjoyed in thirty years, I love the fact that one of our most 'legendary games' was a loss. In my view, it shows what true fans LSU has.
It wasn't the facemask or the non call for illegal motion, it was the drama, the deafening noise, the passion, and the fact that apparently the crowd gave the LSU players a standing ovation for their effort after the game. They did this even though it was a loss.
It's hard not to love that.

Tang is done here. He posted a thread and backed it up with evidence. That is waaaaaayyyy mor than most posters do.
Good job Tang. The facemask was justified. End of story.
Any TIGER fans that want to quibble over the uncalled offsides infraction need to develop their own evidence. I get the feeling Tang isn't going to post that even if he has it.
BTW Tang, PC is still a DOUCHEBAG!

yeah I don't think a blood stained dried glove is going to fit over a latex glove...

You mean finally...Why now? He had ample time to do it before, he's been spouting that video since he got on here and we have asked him many times to post it before and before he said he didn't wish to spend the time doing it...
and before you come back to deny you never said such a thing yes LSUObsessederine you did...
