It’s Bianco. Been hearing for a while he was the second choice behind Sully. Don’t know if I like it but it’s a good chance it will be him

Have you ever been to Greenville, NC ? It's like Funroe without the beach 2 hrs away.

Why would Schloss go to A&M?

TCU has all of the same recruiting advantages that Vandy has, with less strict academic requirements. Schlossnagle seemed to have never taken advantage of that. The only reason Schlossnagle would leave TCU is TAMU money. It's really a lateral move.

My sister lived there for several years. Outside the university area, the rest of the city looks very dumpy, gloomy and uninspired. Agreed.

Well, now there's a real "keep up with the Joneses" feel to this hire that wasn't there before. I know SW swings for the fences, and usually gets his top guy, but if O'Sullivan has been ruled out, and Vitello was never considered, that leaves us with (grumble) Mike Bianco, Cliff Godwin, maybe Dan McDonnell, but maybe not? And now what's this with Pat Casey? He's 62 man, and he's already retired once. That wouldn't inspire much confidence from a fan perspective.

I trust Woodward, but I'm starting to get nervous.

Why would Chris Godwin quit playing WR for Tampa Bay to come coach LSU baseball at his age?

Sounds like something his agent would put out there to get the highest offer possible.

I’m not buying it.

FWIW... I think he stays in Knoxville also, and I don't have a dog in the hunt. Listened to some interviews of him over the past 2 weeks.

Could be wrong, but that is my take. UT did commit to paying him and guaranteeing facility upgrades.

Honestly, I'd be fine with Bianco.

That’s because you are on the spectrum. Doesn’t surprise me. Bianco is the absolute worst choice

at this point, he's gained some leeway on coaching hires. no need to rush it with LSU still playing (and probably the person they want)

I believe you are correct especially if PM has a lot of input on the hire! I still think the best fit for this program and this fan base is Andy Cannazzaro and he would do a tremendous job

Thanks for the opinion, Andy

geauxtigers87,

Do you know who they want as the new baseball coach cause you seem to know something.

I’d be happy with Godwin. Not only is he a fantastic recruiter who would absolutely kill it with our resources and facilities, he’s probably the best hitting coach we’ve had in 20 years, and on top of it all, he’s probably the greatest person in college baseball.

Yeah lets shut down the Sully hire because of "baggage" then hire a coach who lets pedophiles play

I think it's between Bianco and Godwin at this point. I'd take Godwin 10/10 over Bianco. Godwin is younger and has made the most of what ECU has to offer. I understand he played there, but he'd be crazy to not take the LSU job if offered.

Plus he'd still get to wear purple and gold

That's like Saban leaving Kent State for Alabama.

It is just an objectively far, far better job that offers far, far more money for he and his family. Not even his alma mater would fault him for that.
