I’m just telling you what the analytics are

I’m tired of dumb coaches that can’t think strategically talk about analytics sheets. It’s like folks that say they have the stock market figured with an algorithm. No general “analytics” can be right for every matchup between all teams. The question was do we have a better chance of getting 8 yards or stopping them from going 40 and kicking a field goal. In that game with their home crowd and momentum I will tell you the “analytics” should say go for the first down if it doesn’t then they’re too general and wrong.

Ease your pain because the call was a good one but one problem... the QB held the ball. I call this image "Throw the damn ball I."

nabers likely gets tackled short here.

regardless, still don’t like the play call. ole miss didn’t stop anything all night, why limit yourself to half the field?

We also left 15 & 27 seconds on the play clock on consecutive plays while the game clock was running. Gotta milk that bitch in crunch time.. IDGAF ab tempo at that point. See what our tempo got us

And then this idiot BK allows his offense to punt the ball away to an offense who hadn’t been stopped all game.

I could only justify this if we were at home and the LSU crowd would be your 12th man and will the defense to a stop. But you're right, on the road this was a brain-dead decision. Almost like the moment was too big for BK and he has no feel for the ebb and flow of a track meet game.

And what’s crazy is that Jayden refused to throw to Malik on that rollout. It was wide open. It was a dumbass play call but it was there.

I agree about the play call but go back and look at it. The defender pulled the open receiver out of bounds and it was obvious, and blatant.

In the second pic he is at the sticks holding his ground. Also possible DB whiffs and MN is loose down the sideline…

Analytics shouldn’t come into play when you give up 700 yards and 50 points. Your brain and common sense should outweigh the cheat sheet.

Looks like a fricking first down to me and perfect play call. He did not throw the ball. Anyone that knows football saw it happen in real-time and understands the facts. Nice post with the pics.

This....and you're making $10MM/yr; your QB throwing dimes; offense scores 49; your DC making $2MM/yr; and you still...lost. Not even getting into the poor ballgame decisions, just the bank these guys are making. Most people work all their lives and barely save half of what House makes in a year. Our secondary would make any QB look like Mahomes last Saturday. BK and House HAD to know it was bad because if our offense is that good, they'd have to see the disparity during scrimmages, right??

Which is likely why he held it. JD wanted him to get to the sticks. He got there but was immediately tackled by the defender (that somehow wasn’t PI).

I posted on here we could not put and need to plan for going for it on 4th down on that drive or we would lose. It was that obvious.

I congratulated Ole Miss on the win when we punted and called it a night

3rd and 5 from the ole miss 48 with 3 minutes and some change to go. Denbrock calls a QB rollout, immediately eliminating half of the field for the offense to work with. Basically taking away any chance JD might have to make a play if the play to nabers isn’t there (was clear PI on ole miss, but that’s beside the point).

this was actually a good play call because Nabors was wide fricking open, unfortunately Daniels held the ball and let the DB get back into position. For as good as Daniels played he missed this one.
