vs Auburn in 2003. I think the score was 31-7, but we jumped on them quick after a lightning delay and never let up. the defense was suffocating on cadillac and ronnie brown.

When Lavalais blew up the line and nailed Cadillac for a loss on fourth down, I knew we had that game won.

Take away just a couple balls that didn't bounce their way that year and Miami could have easily been in the 2005 BCS National Championship game.

You must be joking.

In the first game of the season Miami lost 10-7 and outgained Fla St. 313-170 and got 21 first downs to 9 for Florida State.

In the last game of the season on their last possession they were down 4 to Georgia Tech with the ball inside the 25 and threw an interception.

Surprised that no one has mentioned the 1972 LSU Auburn game, 35-7. Going into the game, LSU was ranked no. 8 and Auburn was ranked no. 9. LSU was totally dominant. Auburn finished the season at no. 6 (with LSU being the only loss) and LSU finished at no. 11.

But my vote for total dominance is the 77-0 v. Rice followed by the Va. Tech game in 2007.

but do you actually understand the definition of "dominating". Seems like you are making the level of competition a relative factor and not considering the performance of LSU itself
Agreed. He seems to be changing gears talking about most impressive rather than most dominating. The 93-0 game would probably have to top the list of most dominating, with the 77-0 Rice game probably topping the list for "modern era" games.

In terms of most impressive domination, I'd have to say the '07 Va. Tech game. I can't think of another time in our history when a team of that quality was so completely destroyed by an LSU team on both sides of the ball. And the fact that it was also key to our making the National Championship Game helps, too.

There's just no way any 7 point game can be considered in the same ballpark in terms of domination of the game. In terms of solely defensive domination, it absolutely qualifies. But not general domination.

Lot of good games mentioned. Va Tech. Auburn. A dominating game, in my definition, is a stomping on a team when, entering the game, you were worried that you could lose.

Florida State, oranges were flying from the stands -- this is when FSU was very good and we stomped them.

LSU vs. Arizona. I had never been to an LSU football game that I really started watching the minutes in the 3rd quarter. I was totally bored.

Actually OU average 439 YPG that year and LSU averaged 418. We beat them by 7 points. The difference being a defensive touchdown by Marcus Spears. Unbelievable how many idiots don't understand the meaning of the word "dominating"

2007 Va Tech

there were more dominant performances, but Va Tech ended the season in the Orange Bowl, unlike some other opponents LSU killed

LSU vs. Bama 1982 if you can get an old copy of this game you will see one of the most defensively dominating games ever in college football.

I was in the Alabama student section decked out in purple and gold for that 1982 defensive battle. I got pelted with ice every time I stood up to yell Geaux Tigers!! I had a blast during that game. The LSU fans that were at that game was louder than all of the Bama fans.

Well, obviously, you can't be suggesting that we were less dominant against VT, so you must be going on the "when it really mattered" criterion. Are you suggesting the VT game didn't "really matter"?

If so, I'd suggest you're wrong. That game got us into the NC game with two losses. Take that game away and replace it with a win for us over practically anybody else and a loss for VT to practically anybody else, and we don't go to the NC game. VT probably does instead.

One of the more common after-the-fact made-up myths about that game. The truth is that Miami came out fired up and playing well early. Miami didn't leave the fight at home, LSU beat it out of them.

What do pre-game expectations have to do with domination in the game? I don't think we were worried about losing to Arizona in 2006, but it's impossible not to describe that performance as dominating.
