That’s just as bad honestly.

You think not realizing a guy he wasn’t covering had the ball is just as bad as not making the effort to tackle a guy he knew had the ball?

There is a significant locker room leadership problem. I hope it is not related to social justice matters. But some of probably is. Yes Ryan Clark did not help at that time.

There wasn't anything Sting could do, he was running perpendicular to the play, he couldn't have made the tackle from that angle. Silly thread.

Agree that Stingley probably didn’t see him catch the ball and JaCoby isn’t fast enough to run him down as he runs away from him (JS didn’t run away from the WR; other way around).

Looks like that was 18s responsibility and yet another terrible play and performance from D Clark.

Another terrible play (on the players) demonstrating what’s wrong with this team and season, in addition to the others already mentioned, was the first TD (flea flicker) when JaCoby is beat (since all he plays is run all the time) and Mo Hampton comes over late, not to just miss the pass deflection he poorly sold out for rather than tackle the WR and save a TD, he also cuts off JS, tripping him to the ground so he cannot make the easy tackle either. Very reminiscent of the Saints Purple Miracle (or whatever the shite) when M Williams cut off the other CB who could have easily tackled the WR and saved the TD, and game, and season...

Just play after play of less than 100% effort, being out of position, and complete shite at tackling.

But every pass to Tory Carter is high on the list too.

Okay, melt over...I guess.

Clark was supposed to pass that TE over to Cox

If they are playing zone then Clark passes TE to Cox...I believe they were supposed to be in man.

I will find out what they were supposed to be playing and report back.

You realize that was Clark, right? He took the wrong man. stingley was guarding his man and Stevens had to play catch up. The LB were in zone and Clark guarding a WR man to man messed up coverage underneath. Don’t understand why he got #18, but it reminds me of when they gave #7 to the TTU transfer and he didn’t do anything to deserve getting the jersey number

Calm your tits.

Stingley didn't realize the guy even had the ball.

Stevens was trying to play the angles for the tackle but the guy juked and made him look worse than it really was.

18 and 19 are making a dogs breakfast of zone coverage underneath. This wasn't the first one and unfortunately probably not the last one like this you're going to see. They've got to get a lot better quick.

BLM, etc are not making this season any easier, but if you think the players on the field are going to actively tank and affect their future prospects to "stick it to the man", I don't know how to remedy your level of stupidity.

The only thing I see is confusion with the lbers. It looks like Clark is suppose to be covering the rb but instead trails another wr as they both run into Cox. Was that some sort of zone the lbers and Steven’s were in?

That’s definitely stingley. He’s covering a guy at the top of the screen in the slot

You can even see after the td Steven’s point at Clark where he was supposed to go. This is on the linebackers

Looks more like a scheme issue than players. He is completely unaccounted for on this play. Looks like he just ran right past the zone defense. That’s my take. Maybe someone else, a former player on the college level can break it down.

I think does need answering. Something doesn't make sense.

Seeing it live I thought Stingley was just focused on his cover with another guy shorter he was keeping an eye on.

But seeing this gif you can see him peek in towards RB after he's cut in and caught the ball. He was in his line of sight and you can see him turn his head (the part I missed live).

Stevens, that one baffles me. Cox went with his guy and was covering him pretty good. He was probably a clear out to get RB on S with safety back and RB catching short right behind clear out.

However, the cut to the inside happens right before the pass, he's running directly towards the opposite pylon as he catches the ball.

And here's where it gets weird. Stevens comes up some and drifts further outside the hash as the clear out happens, looking directly at the RB, and continues to drift after the cut.

And then the even weirder pull off. Which he may have done to avoid Harris (??) knowing he wasn't going to make the play. But you don't pull off like that if you're playing big boy football. You should be trained to meet at the ball.

Even though there is a plausible answer... it does look bad and to me, while it is explainable (above) it does tell you exactly what there mindset is. Keep in mind, that just tied the game. It wasn't like we were getting blown out or blowing them out.

He ran right in front of his face. There’s no excuse for not realizing the guy running towards you has the ball.
