Whether he deserves it or not, I think Mac gets next year.
I was of this mindset up until recently. However, I think that if he finishes with 3 or fewer SEC wins, he’s finished. It would be incredibly tough to sell the fanbase on one more season of this very lackluster product. I know Woodward gets peppered on here, but I highly doubt that he is fine with letting a major program under his watch get to this point.
1-17, 2-16 or 3-15 I think does McMahon in here. It’d be one thing if this was the first year. It’d also be one thing if he had a cavalry coming in next year but he doesn’t. Losing out on Chris Cenac will loom large and might’ve been the point of no return.
If we see more putrid games like we saw on Saturday, it will make for an interesting next 6 weeks.

Nonsense. It's next day and I still don't care. We're likely winning out now and going 11-7 SEC, right inside the bubble.
Ok it wasn’t a meltdown, he either had a stroke or is completely delusional.

Easily a quitter and cheater, but I know you from TD FF circles. Your opinion is clouded by being a cheater and liar.

Pretty much everybody that supported him bailed last night. Me included. Pirate King stands alone now.

Really?
Yes, I care.
LE plays FF on TD and couldn't even start a roster in TDFL a few years ago before he quit again. Just a blowhard. Luckily for his new dog. Mizz isn't on the baseball team this year.

You're a liar. Some of us know what happened. It's right there in league history. But yeah, continue to lie. I don't actually care now until you decided to interject here.
So yeah, I'll call you out on being a liar and cheater any time you want to call me out caring about LSU MBB.

For whatever reason this board seems to be split into one faction who believes mcmahon has final four level roster talent, while the other thinks mcmahon is some xs and os savant. Neither of these things are true, but both are mcmahon's fault
I tend to agree, I'd love to have Reed but if his absence has put us in this much of a bind Re: relative talent to our peers CMM cannot escape all responsibility for that, in fact IMHO he bears a significant amount.
I think having watched the maddening lack of adjustment to the kids we have to play with and the excruciating struggles we have offensively, I'd also agree that the McMahon is a good X and O guy has become almost impossible to defend with tangible examples.
I'll repeat that I've seen lesser talented teams run better offense. I'd give UNO as an example of a team we played that has nowhere near the talent we did but managed to run a coherent and efficient offense despite that.

I think it must be noted here that the disappointing but hard fact is there is nto much of a men's basketball fanbase left that the ones with some sway that I know, ain't knocking

I will say that loss last night in the manner that it was, can get some attention even amid the absolute apathy that is LSU men's basketball - but it IMHO would take a continuation in that stark of an embarrassment to make the decision you are saying - I think that's kind of what you are saying.
The handful of us here discuss it, but I can tell you out in the real world virtually no one else does. Guys I grew up going to school at LSU with that went to games with me used to love LSU hoops quit watching years ago and couldn't name two players on our roster. Guys I work with that love sports have no interest in it and know virtually nothing about LSU hoops.
Now for me that's grounds for looking for a change. Is that for Scott? That's the question.

Both can be true. Also NIL has changed the game, LSU has other financial needs besides buying out the basketball coach

I've thought for some time that if LSU can't get to 6 wins in the SEC he probably ought to get canned. I think there are a few valid excuses as to why he hasn't been able to get us to being a winning program, but at a certain point those excuses don't matter anymore. Not even being competitive against Texas was a real bummer. I thought maybe that would be the game this team showed some life given how scrappy we played against A&M, Bama, and Auburn.
