And honestly, bud, I'm going by what I've watched, read about, and what my cousin the football coach has taught me. I never played at a high level, but I feel I've learned a lot over time.

Scheme. Burrow held the ball to long drop passes. It was a group effort.

Dude, we haven’t executed a successful screen play all year. It’s literally requires no blocking. So why isn’t it the scheme again??

Lol!!!!!! Scheme cant help an O line huh? Why even have coaches, just give them a snack pack and point them towards the field. They dont need scheme. Just stand on the filed. Which direction you move is irrelevant.

I thought it was basically zone or man blocking. I guess cut blocks too. Good info in this thread. Yes...change the damn scheme to help the OLine.

anybody that watched Alabama in the first half of any game could see their D Line is dominant. they lived in the backfield until they were up 28 points early.

They're obviously good, but Mizzou scored 10 on them in the first quarter. aTm scored 13 in the first half and scored in every quarter. Arkansas scored 7 in the first quarter and scored another 7 in the 2nd quarter. LSU on the other hand...

Nope. Tennessee had all day to throw. So did A&M. And these games were not over by any means before the half.

There are lots of schemes to run if you can’t physically block someone. The damn spread was designed for that exact purpose. We just have never ever ever run them.

It's really sad, man, our offensive coaches really do not know what they're doing. They really don't. It sounds disrespectful, but it is the absolute truth. They are clueless as to how to attack elite defenses. They made an arse at florida, and they really, really showed how inept they are against sabamboom.

Freeze and Dabo. Just wonderful blueprints sitting there for the taking. These clowns have no clue. Elite defenses eat them alive.

How are these clowns allowed to blatantly run this bullshite offense at L S U ? This blows my mind. Where are the boosters? Where is the revolution?

Ya think ya might try something different to slow down the d line? Or is that not part of coaching?

The Tennessee game was over in minutes. It was 28-0 at the end of the 1st. The aTm game wasn't over though before half. They battled.

LSU can try to do one of two things to beat Bama:

1. Try to out-recruit Bama on the recruiting trail with OL, and line up and out-muscle them on the field. This is ultimately what sporadically worked for Les Miles until 2012. It stopped working, but he never stopped trying, and it ultimately cost him his job. LSU is not going to out-recruit Bama, nor are they going to out-muscle them on the field.

2. Hire a young and innovative OC with modern spread scheme that will allow LSU to neutralize Bama’s DL and pass rush.

I have been wondering what did they work on for 2 weeks. They seemed to be just going through the motions and not fired up for the challenge. The lost falls in the coaches lap bc the scheme sucked. They looked like a Les Miles team

Screens don't work against four man rushes. They work against big blitzes. Bama wasn't coming with big blitzes.

Quick slants? No, Bama knew we had no time. They were all over the short routes.

There is no solution to the kind of line domination we saw. If you have a great QB you could go five wide, but we don't have that.
