There is no solution to the kind of line domination we saw
bullshite, other teams have done it
Again it isn't about the loss it's about the big fat goose egg.

And honestly, bud, I'm going by what I've watched, read about, and what my cousin the football coach has taught me. I never played at a high level, but I feel I've learned a lot over time.

That was the worst OLine play I have seen by LSU in years. The Bama D Line was in the back field all night
Nah, every year against Bama for the most part. The championship game was the worst. Joe had trouble feeling the backside pressure and adjustments were either not made or not executed against the pass rush. The running game was non existant as usual against Bama.

...the O line play...period.
And it is so frustrating. I know they've shuffled basically every game. I gave kudos to Cregg last year and the first couple of games this year for keeping it together.
But, they look NFL-quality in some games (or at least during stretches of quarters, even a half), then look like they're just learning to play the position at other times.
Maddening...

We don’t have one player who would start for their team, that’s why.

our OL sucked againts Miami... we couldnt block Willis. it sucked against Selu. it sucked badly against Fla. and against Moo state it still sucked. It was not just the Bama game. OL has sucked all year
I said this early in the year and was SCALDED for it!
Eyes finally being opened...

quote:Right now, with the current OL talent at LSU, "Scheme Modification" would definitely help.
They should have a better scheme to help the blockers.
Long term, LSU has to significantly raise the standards and start recruiting OL's that are both physically and mentally (Large part of OL play) dominant.
That is IF your goal is to win the SEC West/SEC. IF that's NOT the goal, then continue on unabated with the SOS and the results will be the same 9-3 or 8-4 type seasons and a crappy little "Participation Bowl" trophy at the end of the season. (Which many
If there are higher aspirations and the ultimate goal is to "Beat Bama" and win the SEC West/SEC, then something different has to be done than has been the last 5 years or so in OL recruiting. OL is #1 problem. I know it and most everybody else knows it. I knew what was going to happen the day that Will Clapp decided to go Pro back in the Spring. (Cole Smith will eventually be an effective SEC caliber Center, but needs this RS year and about 20-30 pounds of muscle for 2019)
OL is numero uno, but you just saw first hand that DL is not where it has to be either IF you want that SEC Championship ring. O has got to hire an experienced DL coach as well. This "Miles Like" hiring inexperienced BBQ Buddy Dennis Johnson to coach DL in the SEC West was another mistake. You need an experienced "Cregg" type coach on the DL as well.
I'm sure the harsh reality of the situation hit O squarely in the face after the Bama game was over and that lead to his post game comments about OL/DL not being good enough. At least he realizes what the problem is. Whether or not he does enough to fix it remains to be seen...…….

When will you idiots realize ? Esminger called play action all night long even though his o-line was crumbling every down. Those plays take too long to develope. Don’t overthink it. It really is that simple

The main reason we lost...
...the O line play...period.
Brossette not hitting holes that were there, and Burrow not throwing to open receivers, were the reason we were shut out, not competitive in the game, and made Alabama look better than they are.

We lost because we have a JV junior high school caliber HC.
Stupid if you don't see this.
