Its the offseason, the team is doing stuff outside of softball to bond and develop chemistry as a team. This happens with every sport

Softball has been one of the brightest spots In LSU athletics recently too. Not sure why the knock on them.
40% of the women’s scholarships created by Title IX go unused according to my nephew who is a head football coach. If you have a girl and you want her to go to college to play a sport, there is a school out there if she is good at all. Of course the extrodinary cost of these programs universities causes friction and limitations for other sports. So what do you do? Take some of that and give it to sports like baseball in the form of scholarships. That’s a travesty having so few scholarships and limits considering the number of athletes it takes to run a program.
