I might read this article every time LSU loses a game

Great Article. One issue that is super minor. This is not the biggest game of his career. That was the BCS title game in 2007. I would argue that last year's alabama game was bigger than this one.

Cant believe people actually wanted this guy fired. Im sure there are a few that still do.

Like i said in a comment to the article on espn, great article and very good job done by the writer and if anyone (bama fan, lsu fan, dont care what team you follow) does not like this article, and does not gain better appreciation for the coach then you gotta go take a dump and get the crap out of your system

And they will. Sometime.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but all teams lose sometime. I really hope all fans remember this about their damn strong coach, who wins a hell of a lot more than loses, and represents always with class.

Seems like Saban could take a few lessons from Les.

The people of Louisiana very seldom appreciate what they have until it's gone...I hope this is an exception to the rule! There are no more Les Miles in coaching today...JMHO

...you're not the only one.
The man is special....very special. Reading that should now answer the question on how he gets his players to play so hard for him. Just after his family, are his other kids. He loves them. He nurtures them......they are so very lucky to have him.
I have to believe that playing for a man like that would have me a different person than what I am today. A better person.
How lucky are we all to have him as the coach of our LSU Tigers.

I teared up I'm not even going to lie. I'm so glad I sat down and read that. This is the best coach we have ever had and LSU is the funnest it's been since he's been here.
I wish it could last forever
Also that teacher who pulled that is an a-hole.

That is the greatest recruiting tool that anyone has ever presented a coach and school! Any parent whose child is being recruited by Miles can be confident that their child will be in good hands.

Are you kidding? They are still out there. Quitely waiting on a loss. Or the loss of a recruit...and something like Les going to the game instead of recruiting..or his wife coming to call him out of a meeting will be seen as the reason why he is so terrible.
They are there, they are miserable, they have zero perspective on sports or life in general.
That article is what we all kinda knew about Miles already and even though he is kinda nuts, why the supporters always defended the guy.

I met Les his first year at LSU at a function. From what I read in the article his is the same now as I understood him to be back then. Family is important with this guy, treats the players the same, and recruits the same. This is why he is so successful.

Coach Miles is a good father, friend, coach and just overall a good man. Tiger Nation is lucky to have him.
Posted on 11/3/11 at 5:22 pm to PitaLsu
Now that's a bonafide read! Les continues to evolve into the premier head coach in the country. He's not done by far.

"You don't see too many head coaches at this level," says his lifelong friend John Wangler, "standing in line to go down the Slip 'n Slide."
