Had some guys out to do some work at my house a few weeks ago. One of them saw my LSU flag out front and felt the need to reveal that he is a Bama fan and was looking forward to a Bama victory this year. "Living behind enemy lines?" I asked. "Naw man I'm from right up the road in Lacombe." I just chuckled and said "OK."

Is there anything more pathetic than the guys who were born and raised in LA, still reside in LA, and support the Tide? I'm not asking everyone to be an LSU fan, but just because you never had a chance of sniffing the inside of a classroom in Baton Rouge doesn't mean they'd be happy to have you in Tuscaloosa. It's the most pathetic fandom out there.

Ever notice how you never see the LA Native Tennessee Fan or the LA Native State Fan? Hell, it's never even Florida/Auburn/UGA. Only Bama.

ETA: in case it wasn't clear, this guy did NOT attend college at Alabama or anywhere else.

It's like the NOLA natives who were Cowboy fans back in the day. I get North Louisiana, but the South Louisiana Cowboy fans were the same bandwaggoners as the Bama fans.

The idea of just picking a college team as “your team” to whom you have no natural connection whatsoever is just goofy as shite.

I lived in Kentucky for 17 years. You’d be amazed how many Kentucky basketball fans are Alabama football fans. The bandwagon always attracts certain types.

Only read your title:

These are the worst fricking fans. Most of those douchebags were wearing Miami or Florida State gear in the 90s. They’ll claim to be Bama fans now and they ride the next dynasty’s dick.

God it feels so good to shut those assholes up.

They're all about to jump off that Bama bandwagon if they havent already.

I'm guessing they'll be Clemson fans next.

They have bandwagon fans who couldn’t name 5 players on the team everywhere. I have a great nephew who’s one of these. He always wears Bama gear at family events and I have no mercy on him. His Dad hates Bama too, so they are cool with me taking him down a peg. One of these days he’s going to study a roster just to try and shut me up.

If he wears a Bamawagon hoodie to a party this year, it’s really gonna be on. I’m betting he chickens out because he knows How that will go.

Cajun fan, etc that hates LSU but his team cannot beat LSU. Jumps on Bama bandwagon because Bama would beat LSU...in the past.

Ask him how long he's been following Bama. My pest guy, in South Louisiana, is a Bama fan. I asked him when he started following them. He thinks a bit then says, "since Bill Curry"

Some people have to cling to whoever is good now. They aren't built for commitment, thus, they can't mentally handle being loyal to one team through thick and thin. I'd imagine the same character flaw likely shows up in other areas of their lives as well.

Maybe if you substitute in Ole Miss. But I would actually respect that more. At least it would be a bizarre form of masochism instead of bandwagoneering.

Front-runners, man. It's the mindset of a child, so it's forgivable when a child does such things. Adults should know better.

They are normally graduates of a Louisiana school other than LSU and simply hate the passion and attention LSU gets from the state. Those same Alabama fans were Florida/Auburn fans when Saban was here.

I live in Lawrence,Ks and I am a full LSU homer. Raised in NOLA, so I'm a fan of all things Louisiana...Saints,LSU sports, etc. There's some people here that make me shake my head sometimes in Lawrence. This guy I work with is supposedly a diehard JayHawk basketball fan, Buckeye football fan, KC Chiefs fan, NY Yankees fan. These damn bandwagon fans are the worse

Is this the same crowd that Pulls for The Patriots on Sunday and have the temporary Handicap tag hanging from the rearview?
