The Bauer play was a fine example with how we followed up after that huge gain

To be fair, JJ has to hold onto the football
That’s a point where 3 is fine if we don’t punch it in.

So far, LSU has decided to play defense balls out and conservative offense.

Results: 3-0 and #3 ranking.

Why is that not good enough for Tiger fans?

Imagine if you will, a Defense that is really good and an offense that is also really good.

Then you beat Florida by 21 not 10.

I hope this helps

The problem with this is - full throttle Nuss scares the crap out of BK. Explosive plays means you have to let Nuss sling it like he did last year. The coaches have decided we don't have to sling it this year because of the def. playing at a high level. They also thought we would have a running game - we don't. We have 265 yrs rushing YTD. Mizzou had that in 1 game. If they can't get a running game going in the next 2 weeks they are going to have to bring Hilton in and let Nuss sling it. He's pretty good at it. It's who he is. He is not a game manager and looks like he hates that role. He is a 350 to 400 yrd per game drop back passer, not a 200 to 250 yrd game manager. with decent running game. If that running game doesn't come around, take the shakles off Nuss and get Hilton , Nick and Sharp more involved with explsive plays.

You perhaps missed the issue.
If you are playing LSU what do you fear most?
The running game?
The TEs?
Running QB?
No.
You fear the pass. So I play deep and make them win the short game till they beat that.

Because you can't bank on 5 interceptions and holding the other team to 10 points every game. The defense also needs rest so sustaining longer drives is crucial. 3 and out on your first 3 drives is ridiculous. That means the other defense already has you figured out.

I said it before and I'll say it again, something is off about Nuss. He was warming up way more than he usually does during the La Tech game as if he was trying to correct something and he was throwing high all night that game. Wondering if he has an injury they are hiding while he heals.

I agree in principle but not sure it is just that simple. When LSU loaded up on WR deep threats and returned last yrs #2QB in the country for throws over 20 yds our opponents decided play more coverage especially since we cant run the fricking ball.

We have to do something to force some of these safeties into the box and force more man coverage with no help over the top

Because so far the two games against supposedly decent opponents, we’ve left them in the game far too long.

One bad play or one big turnover and momentum changes and those can be cut losses pretty quickly.

Need to put 2 to 3 scores distance between you and the opponent every single time you can.

And at this point, we should’ve done that three times.

I think you are correct....I'll say this again, how many times have you before that throw against Tech did you see him underthrow a pass that badly?

I think folks who think it's a purposeful strategy not to throw deep are not correct, I think it's a physical thing.

Because in their convoluted minds THEY know more about coaching than BK, Sloan and all the staff without ever being at practice, in game video review meeting, gameplan meeting, and press box and on field game time coaching.

I think we are still hiding a pretty average OL. Long passes require pocket protection, and it may not be where we want it yet.
