Wish Woodward and BK had come to this reality sooner and spent money in the portal the last year of JD, Nabers, and Thomas.

You people don’t have a clue if you think the talent level at LSU the last 3yrs was championship caliber. It wasn’t close. How many 1st round draft picks have they had since 2019 compared to OHST,GEO,etc.2019 was the last season we had that kind of talent. You BK haters are so myopic can’t see the forest from the trees.

I'm not saying that they had enough talent to win a championship. I think it's possible that they had enough talent to do better than 8-4 though.

“We have a football team that now is poised to play with anybody in the SEC,” Kelly said. “We didn't before.”

How about our lack of poise and poor coaching when losing to USCw & UCLA who were both very average teams?

I was more surprised to see Louisville had over 20 million in their NIL collective which put that at #10 based on public records.

If you look at the schools in these lists they're spending in all the sports is why their list is bloated. I don't know where LSU is. Probably tier 2. They can support football but it doesn't seem our collective is big enough to support football, baseball, and basketball which is why basketball suffers.

Nebraska is surprisingly bad for the amount of money they have.

Exactly. You're writing a VERY large check that your arse better be able to cash.

If we've got the talent we didn't have before and we still lose 3-4 games, then coaching is the problem.

So this means no excuses if Kelly doesn't make the playoffs this season, correct?

If we don't make the playoffs with this roster, BK will lose a lot of supporters

So Kelly now has a competitive SEC caliber team? No excuses right?

Don’t think we forgot how to pay players. Been doing it at a very high rate for decades. You don’t win all those championships without paying. So did BK stop it? We will never know but it’s not new here on the bayou.

Woody and BK weren’t the problem as much as the reality Underwood caused for the donor class.

LSU wanted to use the money in Bayou Traditions before deals would need to pass through a clearinghouse designed to judge fair market value. It plans to pay out $10 million in the first half of 2025, money that does not factor into the revenue sharing cap.

The key here was not just how much money LSU spent but this post season LSU jumped in fast and hard and scooped up some good talent that met the needs. A month later everyone in CFB saw what was happening with all the collectives emptying their coffers and just went on a bidding war for also-rans.

It is, but viewership and attendance dance were at all time highs.

Fans are disgusted, but if they are contributing millions, we’re a long way from college football going the way of Boxing or NASCAR.
