Wow. Miles inherited an elite program. LSU is not an elite program today. Watching LSU underperform in every game (except Auburn) was like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. Miles hires ruined our defense and offense. He is now going to have the opportunity to fix it, again. Who does Miles throw under the bus next year when this team underperforms and the talent is under-utilized? Miles is a 7-5 coach, nothing more. He won a SEC and National Title with players trained by Saban. Miles players the last two years, aren't close to the throne. Don't kid yourself about that.

8-8 in the SEC in the last 2 years. I guess Warner wants us to be impressed with the non conference record!! WOW! What a Coach!

The worst part of one of the worst first posts ever. You honestly think that guys 3 seasons removed from Saban's last team "won the title" because they were "trained by Saban" as RS or rarely used players in one season-- a season that LSU slopped around in and went "only 9-3" ?

the program has clearly slipped under his watch.

LSU was in the top tier of SEC teams when he took over. Clearly they are not right now

With that as the background, Les has had unimpressive wins and coached us to a loss. The fact that fans are unhappy with him this year does not make them negative, it demonstrates that they understand college football. Also referring to this year as an up-year in the sec and noting that lsu was 9-3 does not tell the story. Les coached us to a 5 and 3 sec record with two victories angaint 6-5 teams and one over vanderbilt. Not impressive. In conclusion, Lsu's record this season does not tell the story of this season. It is like looking at a pitcher's win/loss record instead of his era. Fans are not negative for their disapointment in les.

Amen, brother. LSU's 2009 SOS is 52nd overall, with opposition's winning percentage of 51.7%, based upon aggregate records of 61-57. Remove UF and Bama's 24 W's from this and what do you have? A very unimpressive win list, that's what.

Mr Warner I'm developing a casual dislike for your opinion pieces.

I'll specify the things that I disliked in this one:

1) saying he went 7-5 last year instead of 8-5... if he'd lost his bowl game I feel pretty sure most people against him would say 7-6. It's just inaccurate to be incomplete - OSU was not undefeated in 2006, neither was USC in 2005... the bowl records always count... sometimes immensely so
2) referring to him as a Yankee. He has embraced the state in good times and bad... using verbiage to distance him from the fan-base when he has done the opposite is distasteful
3) referring to LSU fans who want him gone as nega-tigers without making clear you recently wrote a piece talking about how he needed to go too. In fairness to you - I was horrified by the end of the Ole Miss game (but you can't write something like this without being straightforward about your own opinions).

In fairness to you the latter part of your piece does say nice things about Miles but I'd rather you attempted to be more balanced throughout... personally I'm neither sure he's going to last the next couple years nor against him returning next year

Excellent idea.

And I'd like to add that it would be nice to see with his own players (which is where we are now).

In this exclusive piece for TigerDroppings.com

Does TigerDroppings.com actually endorse your bit of silliness?

Miles is VERY explicable. He's the intellectually average (at best) beneficiary of LSU's strong recent history, excellent facilities, and outstanding recruiting base. And of serendipity, I'll hasten to add. Would ANYBODY be proclaiming how great Miles has been if it weren't for one of the most prominent chokes in history (West Virginia's)?

To proclaim Miles a "winner" at 9-3 because he improved upon 7-5 is comically disingenuous when last season's record was of his own making.

Furthermore, to accuse LSU fans critical of Miles of WANTING the Tigers to lose is pretty damn offensive. Not too many LSU fans make $4 million per year... On the contrary, we buy the tickets, buy the merchandise, and pay the taxes that give us every right to criticize overpaid underperformance. Nobody with good sense who witnessed this team this year could be rationally impressed with its coaching.

I hope to one day be able to work the phrase "clandestine conundrum" into a conversation...

There's a reason you've never seen those two words used in the same sentence. Warner's apparently loose understanding of their meaning renders the sentence you referenced sophomoric and unclear. FYI, as an adjective, clandestine is used to describe something underhanded or illicit that is kept private as a byproduct of deceit. There are other words that would have served his intended purpose better -- perhaps he will check with a dictionary or thesaurus next time? I did puzzle over Warner's reference to his blog as an exclusive for Tigerdroppings, especially since 99% of the posts on this site are just that, exclusive to Tigerdroppings. Were there other outlets bidding for a reprint of the blog?

Why not celebrate the winning season and enjoy the upcoming bowl game for the Tigers.

I was in Tiger Stadium this past Saturday and stayed for the entire game. Most stayed---it was exciting! If you cannot stay and cheer your team on win or lose, you are a quitter!!!

Geeez, all this anger at Les Miles. I wonder how long one of you would make it in his shoes. Who do you think could do a better job?

I think at least half the people at the Ole Miss game could have managed that game better.

i've never liked the label negatiger.

i usually refer to the intelligence of the anti-miles, anti-lsu, anti-positigers as boo-gers or ranturds.

remember these boo-gers are products of very sarcastic dysfunctional families. if they had any coaching experience they would know that the best coaching is positive reinforcement. the boo-ger coaching is akin to how their father (and mother) nurtured them.

please remember how sick these phuckers really are.
