Bad part was, he was right next to the QB. I don’t know how they miss that
I was going to post this. I can maybe understand missing a hold 10 yards away from the play but Perkins was 2 feet away from the play.
That play right there was the reason I thought LSU was going to lose. Seems like every close loss has a defining play and I thought that would be it.

The Bammer has his left hand holding Perkins’ jersey and the right hand on his facemask. Perkins his hitting the guy’s arm to free it.
As Bryce begins to run you see Perkins’ helmet jerked to the left in the pic away from Bryce.
When Perkins frees himself the guy grabs his jersey and takes him down.
Those first three pics will never be called holding. They are allowed to grab inside the shoulder pads. The last pic with the wrap on the neck could have been called. The key is the arm extension.
I am as homer as anyone that was not as blatant as you say. Go back and look at 2016 on Hurts TD run in a 10-0 game. Bo Scarborough tackled Lewis Neal from behind...

It ain’t bribes.
It’s the Jordan effect. Watch the Netflix documentary about Tim Donaghy and how it was an unwritten rule to let star players and big market teams get away with infractions cause it was good for business. It’s a culture. Same in every league.

The most blatant no call of the night and bad because it prevented a sack that would have cancelled out a score.

Exactly. Holding and face mask and hands to the face mask.
There was another call where two refs are discussing a penalty in LSU and I’m telling my friend… look they’re discussing whether to make the call the 10 yard penalty or call it a 15 yard penalty.
I don’t recall what the pantries were but sure enough the guy says… there were two penalties on the play. One was a 10 yard penalty and the other the 15 yard.
They assessed the 15 yard.
Ok I know that sounds conspiracy crazy but those two refs spent an inordinately long amount of time discussing. What was the hold up?
This may be a dumb question, but why would a team accept a ten yard penalty when they also have the option of accepting a fifteen yard penalty?

Saban has said before about having his offensive lines wear white gloves.
Hard to see sharing a white jersey.
Lsu loves the white and they wear it every time against Bama.....

Blow up the pics. The guy has his hand under Perkins facemask. That’s not his Jersey. Live you can see his head jerk as Bryce goes by. In these pics you can see the guys hand and Perkins looking away from Bryce when he was right next to him. He was looking away bc the guy was holding on the the facemask

I’m not saying it was an option. I’m saying the added the call to make it a 15. Again I have nothing to go on except the two refs talked for a long time and I jokingly said it. But damn if they didn’t have TWO penalties.
You’re right if it’s two there is no discussion. Take the 15. But here they talked a minute or so.

Another part of that play was the clean opportunity 11 had to smoke Young and just flat out whiffed

You say this but I remember very specifically they called a hold on us on a run around the right side for a block that was completely between the numbers with no visible jersey pull

Where are SEC headquarters located?

Like someone else said.. that’s not something you miss. That’s something you ignore.

That was the play where the bammer flopped. Basketball style.

fricking scumbag SEC Referees.

Perk would have sacked him easily

WRONG.
They are allowed to hold inside the shoulders of the defender. #54 clearly has his right arm on the outside of Perkins' arm and his hand on top of the pads.
His left hand is grabbing the back of Perkins' pads/jersey. That is HOLD.
As the play progressed, #54's right arm slid over to Perkins' facemask as Perkins was trying to free himself.
After the facemask Perkins was being pulled down by his right arm.
That cost us at least 4 points and maybe 7, since a penalty would have moved them to about midfield. They would have needed 20+ yards on 3rd down to get within field goal range.
