re: The Garrett Nussmeier critics have totally lost reality with what a good qb is.

Shitty pocket presence and cinder blocks for feet.
How would you quantify that based on stats?
Let's look at how many dropbacks per Sack. In 2019, JB was sacked every 16.1 dropbacks(Sacked 34 times in 512 PAs).
In 2023, JD was sacked every 15.9 dropbacks (Sacked 22 times in 327 PAs), dropbacks.
Nuss, last year, with his lack of pocket awareness and cinderblock feet, was sacked every 33.8 dropbacks (Sacked 16 times in 525 PAs).

I mean cherry pick all the stats you want.
In 2019, JB rushed 115 times for 368 yards
In 2023, JD rushed 135 times for 1134 yards (wow!!)
In 2024, GN rushed 34 times for -38 yards (wow!!)
A sack is counted anytime a QB is tackled behind the line of scrimmage on a pass play. Would it be unreasonable to think that a QB who looks and is capable of running more or when a play break down (ie Burrow and Daniels) would be sacked more frequently? I'm not sure that's an accurate stat to reflect my comment.
Go watch any game last year vs any game the 2 QBs you mentioned above played in. They knew "how" to avoid a rush or "how" take advantage of what the D gave you with their feet. Garrett does not. He doesn't move well and doesn't instinctively look to do it either. That does not work in this era of CFB. You don't need wheels, but you need to be able to move. That doesn't change in an offseason and will be this teams kryptonite.

Garrett Nussmeier with luck and team success … could be LSU’s 4th Heisman trophy winner.
I’m not sure what else needs to be said regarding his abilities.

Reading is hard for you isn't it?
Actually it is. What isn't hard for me is seeing how little so many here really know nothing about football. What's worse is they really think they do. With that said professor I will take my wealth of common sense and football acumen over my dearth of reading skills. You did expose my slight dyslexia so you do have some skills.

Give me your stats other than rushing yards to indicate why he has no pocket awareness. I looked back at multiple seasons (back to 2018), but only posted the two Heisman seasons. No one was close to Nussmeier in sacks per dropback. The closest was sacked at just under twice as much per drop back.

They were sacked twice as often, and if they are capable of running and decide to run but get tackled behind the line of scrimmage vs throwing the ball away which is better?

He just had the second-best passing season in the history of LSU football.

He doesn't move well
He moves very well in the pocket and avoids sacks very well. Moving well does not only mean running; it never has. He is primarily a pocket passer. Should he take advantage of runs when needed? We agree on that.

I remember people saying exactly this about Daniels running too much between 2023 & 2024.

Is this a post from two years ago or what? No one is criticizing him right now

When I tell them that he threw for 4k yards they usually try to say that he must have padded stats vs bad teams.
His counting stats were pretty hollow last year, and all the important average/percentage stats back that up.
Is it criticism to say that if he plays like he did last year, LSU losses 4-5 games again? Can anyone objectively disagree with that lol?

We have a lot of dumbasses in the fanbase. Most of them are young. They think BK can’t coach and Nuss sucks. They clearly weren’t conscious in the 1990’s.

Who is saying that Nuss is a bad quarterback?
Dumbass Josh Pate doesn’t even have him in his top 4-5 quarterbacks this season.

I think BK can coach, Nuss has some things to clean up before he is labeled "great", and your are an idiot.

That’s because you don’t know what you’re looking at but speak on it like you do. That makes you an idiot.

At the end of the 2024 season, LSU ended up playing 4 ranked teams, and winning only 1. He threw 8 of his 11 (12 if you count bowl game) interceptions in those 4 games.
This year we play 7 preseason ranked teams and, at minimum, I would think 5 stay there and end the season ranked. Tough schedule.
My hope is he doesn’t force throws and has a running game to help open up the pass. A great D would go a long way towards not putting it all on his shoulders to make plays. With a year under his belt, I’m cautiously optimistic.

Ruffino said his Fall Camp this year has been Top 3 draft pick worthy. He said he's only had 1 or 2 INTs in all Fall Camp, and Ruffino said by this day last year, he had had 10-12 INTs. And he only has 1 or 2 INTs so far.

yep. He will have to show up and out play some great QBs on the other end this year. Regardless of what people say about other positions, the season hinges on Nussmeier playing much better than he did last season.

Yeah. Since Burrow, our dumb assistant fans blame our qb when we lose. They do it to Daniels and Nuss, even when they put up 40 points with zero run game. Idiots
