I lost count of the number of times there was a very wide hole in the LSU D-line with nobody behind it.

No one said it was.

However, losing him pretty much sealed it.

Exactly.

There is rarely just one play that decides a game--its a serious of events that lead to that play deciding it.

JD5 getting knocked out sealed the loss. He's the only reason LSU was in that game. The defense couldn't get a stop all night. Receivers were dropping balls, then you had the tipped ball INT.

I wish we had guys on our defense that hit like Dallas Turner. I’d rather our guys have hits like that than do what Maason Smith was doing all night

The game was over when Alabama got their turnover. We all knew that our defense was bad and the only way we could win this was by getting into a shoot out. We were matching them blow for blow up to that point and then it stopped.

I don’t usually rewatch games but I think this is one I will. I really want to watch the receivers on plays that both QBs ran and also see how many runs were called and how many were scrambles.

After that deep pass by Daniels on the Alabama blown coverage for 46 yards early in the game I thought they would carve up Alabamas secondary.

But maybe... just maybe... if we don't lose our Heisman candidate QB who was on pace for 300 yds passing/ 200 yds rushing... maybe we could've kept moving the ball so the D could catch its breath.

The game was lost on that hit. Make no mistake about that. The D is pathetic. But when Daniels sat up looking dazed, the game ended.

We didn't lose the game last night because of the assult and battery of JD but it may have been closer had JD not got taken out. We lost because BK has been at LSU for a year and a half and we were playing a well stocked equally coached team with a legendary coach who has been there for 20 freaking years. Oh in case anyone needs a history lesson BK beat Bama and the refs last year with 39 scholarship players.

No shite

But it took the best QB in America out of the game and potentially out next week too. Meanwhile, the defender stayed in the game and doesn’t have to miss the first half next week

That’s objectively fricking garbage

Right, but losing your star quarterback to a cheap shot didn't help .

things were starting to unravel by that point but, mathematically, and given the time remaining we still had a chance, albeit a slim one, losing JD5 sealed the fate, so yeah, in a sense that hit ended our hopes

You know man… both can be right. I’m sick of people saying officiating wasn’t the reason we loss. No shite Sherlock, but that doesn’t take away that officiating was a piss poor job last night

Why? We have a pretty good offense with Daniels. Capable of scoring twice in 5 minutes. Almost scored with Nuss.

I mean, we lost by two possessions. LSU’s last two possessions were by Nuss, who did ok but Jayden would have found a way I’m sure of it.

So I’d say the dirty hit was definitely a factor in us losing. Now, after the dirty hit would ejecting Turner make a difference? No because Daniels is still out.

The game was over when the db on the same play interfered with Nabers then our qb also got injured.

That was NOT interference.
