How is it "at the costs of others well being"? Does it take 3 days for people to go north? Get in your car and drive away from the coast. Doesn't seem like a 2-3 day project to me.

did you not see it when georges, katrina, ivan hit? its a disaster on the interstate. If they really start contraflow and if the storm is really coming into SE louisiana they need to cancel the game...we would like total retards having declared a state of emergency and requesting all of the federal aid that we have yet still playing a football game

Einstein, you're saying that Gustav is going to hit NOLA on Sunday? It won't even be to Cancun by Sunday.

Not sure of Georges and Ivan, but that wasn't the case with Katrina. Watched Saints vs. Ravens Friday night. Got calls from family/friends telling me it turned and was going to hit NOLA, get out. Went and watched the news and watched Nagin/Blanco say get out. Got up at 7am, ate breakfast and calmly drove home with ZERO traffic on I-55 or I-20.

Everyone on this site should be embarassed that they think a football game would be more important than getting the residents of this state to safe place to ride out the storm. You fans are pathetic!

So what good games are gonna be on TV this Saturday? Looks like we're gonna have plenty of time on our hands this whole Labor Day weekend.

Source is Charles Zewee (LSU Spokesperson) per Wafb's Andre Moureau.

Why didn't LSU just go ahead and cancel the game earlier instead of sending out a press release at 5:00 saying that there was no change? What prompted the change I wonder. Jindal needs to shite or get off the fricking pot. Either the game's on or it's off. People are travelling to the game from out of state and might not find out until they arrive that the came was cancelled. I understand his concerns but I think he's jumping the gun big time.

You rang?

What the governors office said tonight was that they were "thinking" about starting contraflow on saturday night. They did not give a time, it could be midnight on Saturday, it could be 8pm. No one said contraflow was going to start on Saturday, so it's a bit premature to start wishing death and destruction for a game that has not been touched right now. Everything is still on including the party out front of the PMAC as of tonight.

I am pretty sure the gov. said he wanted a 70 hour window so they could get everyone out that wanted to leave. They have pushed back their projected start time each day b/c of the track and storm speed.

No one is going to endanger public safety to play a game, but also, the PMAC was still full of people when they played the UT game in '05, so it's not like it can't happen and a football game happen too.

Just a little patience and perspective right now people.

it got sufficiently worse... Ivan was the worst 12 hours nola to BR

the real issue is the declaration...if they are really going through with this you absolutely cant play a football game...its like asking the goverment for help and them flipping them the bird
