re: The game against A&M was just bizarre.

Yep. I messed it up. We were at the Aubie game in 2016 when Miles got fired and then brought all 4 kids to the Troy game in 2017 when Coach O turned it around. I blurred em together.
I'm sorry about that mix-up.

Depth caught up with the team and they were gassed from the season.

I think this was it. Plus Aggie clearly played flawlessly. Miraculous one handed catches and shite.

Honestly, it’s only the second LSU game I’ve ever turned off. The players appeared not to be trying, and the coaches appeared to follow suit. It was really frustrating how we seemed so disinterested.
Depth got em, it gets everyone if you don’t have it.
Depth is how elite teams thrive.
You have to have it, the ghost of Orgeron was still haunting this team and it came calling last game of season.
Incredible coaching effort by Kelly’s considering the chess pieces he inherited.

1. Seeing CBK tear up in the post-game interview after Bama while fans were pouring into the field like we had just won a Natty or something - I was like you know we have half the SEC season to go…. Lost our edge at that movement and never got it back.
2. Y’all maybe did not watch the Arky game. We were beyond terrible on offense. We are a one-trick pony and the book is out on us. Would have lost that game had Arky decided to block #40. A&M decided to block him and everyone else.
We are a 9-3 team, might end up 9-5 which is still a great start for CBK with this roster

Bizarre was watching the defense get run through from the get go.

Now that's just silly shite people say after we lose a game. "I knew it when..."
This is a regular occurrence in your life?

I guess you knew it when every SEC team outscored us in the first quarter this year except Bama. And I bet you knew we'd beat Bama in the first quarter too.
What?

Our adjustments on defense have been outstanding in all these games except Tennessee.
Never mentioned that. But ok I guess.

Depth wins games like that. They had more. We couldn’t stop the run, which means they weren’t going to stop running the ball, which means they were going to
Weren't they down to their 2nd amd 3rd string players on the line?

Yep. This was coming the last couple weeks. Team depth will catch up and it did. I expect them to play hard for a quarter or two against GA but it will be tough to pull it out.
It’s been a great year and anybody bitching about this season wasn’t paying attention the last couple years

Besides Florida, Ole Miss, Bama and one half of the MSU game we have played pretty bad all year. It was bound to bite us in the arse against a shittt team at some point

I was at the A&M game. It was a waste of gas money.
It was a chilly, but not a cold night. There was a brisk breeze blowing that occasionally gusted to around 20 mph.
It had rained all morning, so there was a dampness in the air.
Chilly conditions, but nothing like Arkansas.
Yet, when our guys came out for the kickoff some of them were dressed like they were going cross-country skiing. They had hoods on their heads. Lots of them were wearing gloves. Whenever a unit returned to the bench, they parked their butts near the heaters.
On the Aggie side, meanwhile, they were all standing and jumping along the sideline all night long.
They were into the game. LSU clearly wasn't.
Did that affect anything? We only have the game itself to draw our conclusions. I haven't seen an LSU team play that soft in years.
I refuse to believe the poor dears were "tired" from the long season. That's such bullsh*t. A&M certainly didn't seem tired.
The other thing that happened, I'm convinced, is that LSU had watched video on A&M all week and it had fooled them into thinking this was the worst football team they were going to face all season.
The mind plays tricks like that on teams. They watch the video. They saw A&M struggle, even against UMass. I think it had an effect on LSU's mental preparation.
The good news is that the shoe now is on Georgia's foot. How worried are they going to be after watching the tape of the LSU-A&M game?

Did you watch Auburn and Arkansas? QB play is the most important aspect of the game other than defense which won the Auburn and Arkansas game in spite of the shitty QB play.
LSUs defense got 2 straight 3 and outs then Daniels fumbled and it was returns by A&M. After that it was game over.

It's true. We were outscored by sec opponents in every 1st quarter except Bama. Did you know we'd lose those games too?
And Bama was favored by a lot. Did you know we'd win that game in the first quarter? It's not rocket science. How the hell did you know we'd lose to A&M after one drive?

I agree that there seemed to be a strange lack of energy, motivation and desire against AnM. But we saw it against ark as well. I would like to believe that the team is tired or worn out as the answer as suggested but I’m not sure we didn’t see something similar and weird against Fla st early in the year. Something didn’t seem right and we looked emotionally flat vs several teams. I bought into the business like approach discussed in the week leading up to the game but these young men need to be more excited and motivated.

It was the strangest lack of effort I have ever seen.
I see 2 possible scenarios. Our roster is thin, and even despite the impressive S&C team and changes which have proven an asset down the stretch in 2Hs, a lot of players played a lot of snaps…they just finally ran out of gas. Or, the 4-7 Aggies were massively overlooked in a classic look ahead spot with UGA looming. Not sure which, probably a bit of both.

Thank you for noticing that. I also questioned why some of our guys had hoods and face covers while there were sorority girls in the stands wearing sweaters. I was like aw, do you want me to put some marshmallows in your cocoa while you huddle under a blanket by the fire?

We would have lost to Ark if KJ Jefferson had been healthy and played. They literally had no qb whatsoever.

Someone posted this after the game and it made immense sense. It wasn’t lack of effort, rather the energy wasn’t there, guys are fatigued and there’s a lack of depth that will be addressed with this recruiting class and transfer portal. A&M was playing for their lives, this and the Alabama game were their conference championship and super bowl games. They’re extremely talented yet raw and poorly coached, so getting a win like this was bound to happen, unfortunately it was against LSU. Factor all that in, you’ll find the answer to what truly happened. That’s the beauty and ugliness of college football. Now watch this weekend, that’ll scratch your head after the A&M showing, LSU holds Georgia, very close, win or lose.
