A month ago the sky was falling in Baton Rouge.
As of now, we haven’t seen the mass exodus of players leaving LSU to the transfer portal. In fact, it looks like the locker room issues have been resolved and players are returning next year. 3 of the five offensive linemen and 3 of the 4 defense linemen have already decided to return. Neil Farrell tweeted this morning “Commit to something and stay committed”. This is what I like to hear. Players with heart don’t want to leave like this.

Gilbert left..that’s cowardly of him. Wasn’t like he wasn’t getting the football. The offense looked better without him there anyway. Curry left. He did it for playing time and he did it the right way. Good luck to him. Finley may leave, the QB room may be very crowded for the first time ever at LSU.

LSU didn’t sign Leigh of Foreman. We saw that coming. LSU still signed a very very good recruit class with 2 OL and 4 DL so far. The starting lineman deciding to return for another year is huge and it helps offset a lack of new OL recruits.

The future is bright at LSU and next year will be great. Myles Brennan will be back but there will be competition there. Our 2 best running backs are coming back and we signed 2 very good RB recruits , our best offensive linemen are coming back, we have an outstanding freshman WR going into the second season and signed several very good WRs this year. LSU is returning 3 DL starters and signed the #1 DT in the country and 3 very good DEs. LSU is returning their young starting CBs and signed 2 of the top 3 safeties in the country.

The future is bright my friends. We commin!

Now let’s hit it from the other side.

We have no coordinators and just came off the worst season since the 90’s. The future was bright after last year and then the whole program went off the rails. Our o line coach is absolute garbage and our o line recruiting is just as bad. There are tons of things to fix and with O at the helm we’ll see how that goes

100% agree all the O lineman coming back is hugely positive for the program
People will spin it however they want but this was a great week except for the TL news

All about the coordinators now, hope O doesn't whiff

Last year LSU was coming off of its best season but had to replace its DC, Joe Brady, and several other assistant coaches. In addition to this, they had to replace the QB, RB, 4 OL, 2WR, TE, 2DE, DT, 3LB, 2CB, and S. If the future was bright then, it should be now.

LSU will have coordinators soon. Pelini was a huge disappointment and pretty much anyone could come to LSU and have better results. Regardless who they hire , some of you will complain. If it’s a experienced coach with a resume, they will say, “He’s old! We need a young coach who relates to the players!” If they hire a young coach with potential, they will say “Who? Why couldn’t they get a proven coordinator? Because they can’t work with O!”

Some people just focus of negativity. It is what it is.

And our coach isn’t smart enough to stay out of social media posts that make him look like he’s having a mid life crisis. Not a good look for the head of a multi million dollar organization.

It appears that appeals to much of society.
Get the moat out of thine own eye. Ugh quit gossiping.

We went 8-5 with les miles while playing OOC games. I’d say that was a worse season.

Also 8-5 with Saban.

The 8-5 Saban season was in 2002, after Matt Mauck got hurt. LSU was a respectable 5-3 in SEC play that year, lost to VA. Tech and lost to Texas in bowl game. In 2008, LSU was 3-5 in SEC play, 4-0 in OOC games (no P5 OOC game) but beat the crap out of #13 GA. Tech in the Peach bowl.

The big unknown and concern is the Title IX investigation.

I think the Title IX is in the end going to be not the problem the USA reporters tried to make it to be. Could there have been some better practices that need to be added to the LSU policy but I do not see LSU's Title IX reporting policy favoring LSU football players or more accurately treating them differently (more lenient) than non-football players.

And in 2008 miles lost to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, ole miss and Arkansas for a 3-5 SEC record

If you want to compare the players lost between the 2007 and 2019 team I think it’ll paint a picture too...

I’m cautiously optimistic, wouldn’t say the future is “bright” yet, but it’s definitely brighter.

Only after the team lobbied for Saban to put Rohan in since he kept starting Booty. If Saban had not been persuaded to put Rohan in, we lose the Peach Bowl

We need to see our hires first, second who returns, and third how the class closes before we say what the future will look like. Hard to be very optimistic at this point in time with how bad the season was.
