In Houston's win over Cincy, the Cougars ran 93 plays! In 3 games they have passed the ball 102 times and rushed 168 times. Thats 90 plays per game which equates to opportunities for players and fun for players and fans alike

Conversely LSU, in 2 games has passed 40 times and rushed 66 times for an average of only 53 plays per game. That equates to frustration and boredom for players and fans alike, not to mention 4 WRs transferring.

It seems with the stable of RBs and WRs, the idea would be to pick up the pace and create as many opportunities as possible for these playmakers, improving team morale and exciting the fanbase.

If Houston had a stud RB like LSU consistently gets, they would be wayyy better than they are now. It would be awesome if Herman came here but highly unlikely but who knows. Crazier things have happened

Watching paint dry is more fun than LSU football. I'm just waiting for Miles to start punting on 3rd down now.

Radicalzedtigah, I think your stats are off. Are you not counting all the plays les says we were going to run in the game but didn't? That's like 20 more plays a game.

I know once I translate miles' postgame presser I get excited imagining all those plays.

I remember how bored we all were during the 2011 season.

SUCCESS is what determines excitement. Bama fans haven't seemed bored lately.

I get excited and happy with a W. I don't give a damn how many plays are run or points scored. It makes ZERO difference if it's 68-0 or 3-2. The W is all that matters.

I would like to see us open it up more, but I don't want us going to a big 12 or pac 12 offense.

Winning is fun, and when lsu's offense is rum correctly, it can be s lot of fun to watch. As pointed out above: 2011 was awesome, 2013's offense was great, the d just stunk it up. Auburn was a blast last year

Running the ball and controlling the clock is key to wimping championships

I bet if Herman came here, you would see a change in his coaching strategy with the elite talent he would have playing against sec opponents

So what does that make LSU look like?

Give me the hot garbage over the cow shite we put out on the field.

Are you insane????

That's 40 more chances a game that your qb may turn the ball over. Hell no!

To me it doesn't even have to be a fast tempo spread offense with 90 plays a game. I would be fine with an offense like LSU ran in the first half of the game last week, and for the entire game. But the thing is, that is not Miles' comfort spot. His comfort spot is what LSU does on offense in tight games and/or up 2-3 scores. And they always invariably end up with that same Miles-brand LSU of boring arse football. Which, consequently, allows the opponent a window to work their way back into the game.

That philosophy has bitten LSU time and time again. And if it hasn't bitten them, it's made what should have been a sure win into a nail biter. And then there have been times in which he should have stuck to it because it was working, but the stupid sob wants to get cute with trick plays.

And this has happened since he's been here in 2005. That's why I'm ready for a new coach. Tired of that.

Teams like LSU and Alabama (preferred style of play) only need to run about 72-74 plays per game. The problem is LSU is severely under that at this point based on the 2-game average. They ran 69 plays in the last game with Etling. Harris got in 6 of those. Clearly the offense itself was more efficient because Danny was willing to check down as often as they gave him the opportunity.

Generally, yes. But it's not fun watching the Tigers struggle against teams they should demolish and keeping games close because of poor discipline and coaching decisions.
