I'm not happy and Miles needs to go after his disrespectful tweet this morning. I understand loving your Alma mater but don't do it publicly when you work in the same field. If CLM loves Michigan enough to tweet about them, that's where he needs to be

Dumb post. You can't look at this season in isolation. But what you can do is see the slow steady decline since the National Championship game. The fan base seems quite content with that...

I always have them with at least 3 losses. That's what you get with the Schembechler student.

I was wishing for a couple of 5-7 seasons to cleanse the fan base out somewhat

With who we lost to the NFL & the schedule, I am happy with 8&4.How ever We should have won another game or two, except for poor play calling in game conditions. Maybe next year. That sounds familiar.HA! HA!

I'm happy that 8-4 is the worst regular season in like 6 or 7 years and that 7-4 is the worst in Miles tenure.

I don't expect to win 13 games every season

But why not?

LSU should be Alabama, right?

My goodness. Think about what you are saying.

We have teams with all this NFL talent.

So we beat the ULL, North Texas, and who ever is the bottom of the SEC West that year.

With our talent level, that's 5 or 6 give me games.

The 11 season being the exception, not the rule.

So we win 2 or 3 middle of the road teams.

We pay for an elite coaching, but get Avg results.

The prospect looked much worse earlier in the season. No one is happy with 8-4. Relieved would be a better word. It certainly doesn't sit well with me. No one is happy that LSU could have and should have beat Alabama, but didn't. No one is happy with the 0 point total against Arkansas with no passing game in existence. Those two games alone could have put them in the 10-2 range. Everyone, though won't be happy until we have another NC run with a balanced competent running and passing attack.

Most are happy with where the defense stands right now going into next season. Especially if they could get Kwon for another year, but I doubt it.

Now on the o-line, if they can talk Alexander in coming back LSU will return 3 starters. Pocic (C) and Hawkins (OT) are sophomores. I imagine Alexander will be moving to a tackle spot next season like Collins did which could translate into more money at NFL level.

Running back should be a better position with Guice and Brossette coming on. The pressure will be on Darrell Williams who may see increasing time at fullback.

At fullback, Jones is bigger, faster, and catches pretty well. He may be the most athletic fullback we've had since Hester.

Wide receiver will almost certainly be improved, but do we have a QB that can get them the ball consistently. Btw, I think Dural is here another year. He's fast but not polished enough. It will always come down to QB "in-game" skills and efficiency. And the reason I say "in-game" is because if what you do in practice doesn't show up in the game, it simply does no one any good.

But if this program is where it should be with talent and coaching, we should expect no more than 2 losses most seasons. During the regular season, Alabama could have had 2 or 3 coming into this game, but they know what to do when they get a second chance in games. This comes down to player discipline both personal and team.

One of the most prolific passing attacks LSU had threw away a game "literally" against Ole Miss in 2013. That cost this team an unnecessary loss. Think about it, 1 loss going in to playing Alabama puts the team in a completely different position nationally. Just having a great passing team does not guarantee a national championship, but it does help.

It's the decisions you make during the game. Understanding that each catch is critical. Making sure the ball is secure on every run. Closing out your opponent means doing the little things well throughout the entire game and that falls on the players. You simply can't have a "ME" moment.

What I am tired of are these moronic posts that think that LSU or Miles has an option on this contract short of a monster buyout not seen in the history of CFB... Morons will be morons.

Face it LSU and CLM are contractually joined at the hip for at least three more years until the buyout gets into single digit millions.

True but if season tickets dwindle you never know; I may not renew due to financial reasons as well the boring effect watching the CLM style.
Yeah, I know, should be happy with 8-10 W every year and just shut up and pay the tickets and am a shitty fan and is our fault bla bla. Fact is though there will be thousands of season tickets available as well free tickets outside the gate this season so this may not go well.
I do think we will have fantastic SEASON 2015

LSU athletics has plenty of money. The TAF can raise money very easily to fix any stupid buyout that joe managed to get us in. However, I don't think its going to happen unless we really bottom out.

We don't even really need to fire Les. We could make some minor tweaks and have him start moving more and more towards a figure head roll. This would mean we might need to get rid of BDP,Haley and Ensminger and bring in top assistants to come up with a better recruiting plan that doesn't leave holes and someone that can manage game situations. Les is good in the living room and fairly good as the face of the program. He is goofy and the media likes him. As long as we win his goofy shite is funny. Id like to bring in someone to replace cam, possibly if they are good give them head coach in waiting like jimbo had. Then we groom him while we let les still be the head coach. We could pull it off considering how well we pay assistants.

ETA: I haven't seen the buyout but almost all buyouts are structured to be an annuity payment. So its not like we are paying him 15 million in a one time payment. Another deal is very rarely does either party end up paying out the actually buyout number. They will come together to get a number that works for both parties if it came down to that. For example, LSU would drop the number if michigan came calling. We would be stupid to hold Les hostage when he would rather be at michigan.

Going 8-4 is one thing. Going 8-4 with the talent on this team and this crappy recurring offense is totally terrible.

I sat in Jordan Hare and watched LSU get dominated/beat in every phase of the game. I thought we would have trouble breaking even at 6-6.

Ending up 8-4 does not make me feel good, but it is better than what I thought we'd finish with such inexperienced/young players at so many key positions.

In 2015 I expect us to be better but how much better I cannot predict until I see how many players choose the NFL next semester.
