Side not, Canada absolutely has HC goals which is why he came here to get more spotlight. He had stated he wants that. Defense is more important any ways though so I agree keep Aranda at all cost.

So if Canada has the goods, promote him to HC, give Aranda a raise, demote O.

Part of being a top 10 program is your assistants are always going to be hot commodities.

IF LSU were to lose Aranda, the line would form to the left of people wanting that job

Its also not the normal for a position coach to get promoted over you when you got one of the best defenses in the country.

Why not?

O got promoted over him year before when he was the reason we had a chance in every game last year.

So your going to demote the head coach and keep him on staff and then promote the defensive coordinator.....we'll I'll give you one thing, it is innovative.

Oh, I'm absolutely for it. Not joking, but of course it won't happen because O will throw a hissy fit.

Seriously how must Aranda really feel about this set up? That's remarkable if he can work very long for someone that isn't qualified to be his boss, and who used to work for him not even a year ago.

Well LSU did fire the most successful head coach in it's history only to hire his Defensive line coach so it wouldn't surprise me if they did...

I predict Aranda's next stop will be NFL DC. Never to be seen in college football again.

I bet it is interesting.

You were the guys boss a year ago. Had one of the best defenses in CFB and the guy who you are the boss of gets promoted over you.

Hopefully it works but if Aranda leaves then balls out somewhere else it will be a damn shame.

Aranda is the highest paid D.C. In college football by a pretty wide margin IIRC. He won't be leaving for just any job.

I want him at LSU...Don't care what money he makes. Being a DC alot different than being a HC at a power 5 or NFL job.

Wtf does this matter when Aranda is the guy?? Do you realize that success isn't guaranteed. We know what Aranda is now. We don't even know his full genius yet but we know he is special. Our coordinators seem to be the valuable assets and not the head coach. I don't mean that in a personal way. I just don't know how that is a sustainable heirarchy. The season is about to start and I'd rather not stoke the flames of paranoia over a fortuitous problem. We have maybe the premier defensive mind in college football right now. Period.
