Why is Marvin Jones playing fullback. Chew on that a while. Hey fullbacks are great and needed. How many defensive recruites over the last few years have we moved over to fix or add to a certain philosphy on offense that has hurt depth on defense?

More than capable.......if we rush for 250 with 0 turnovers this game it won't be close......I haven't even mentioned how easy landry and beckham will get open....

OUR GOAL SHOULD BE rush for 250, 0 turnovers, and double teaming Evans!

They have this guy Johnny something or other. They will put up points. I'm afraid many.

Welter stays in there because he is the only one who can get everybody lined up correctly.

This has been repeated a ton but still is laughable.

Defense looks lost as shite.

Biggest disappointments in my opinion have been Gilmore, Bain, and Herron. These guys came in with high - maybe too high - expectations and other than Herron haven't even seen the field.

I know I am spinning my wheels here but...

All those guys are freshmen. Freshmen. LSU fans have been extremely spoiled because freshmen have stepped up in previous years. But, that isn't gonna happen every year in the most competitive division in the most competitive conference in college football. It's just not gonna happen. And I'm sure if they played for Bama they each would be Heisman finalists but Bama is on a different level from everybody else. Just accept that this team will simply be meeting expectations this year and get ready for a brighter future.

Chavis is has been coaching a loaded defense the past couple of years and now he does not have the talent to run what he normally runs and is still trying to figure it out

Ummm....we are in game 11 now...I would think some things would have already been "figured" out by now there champ.

The defense has performed pretty much how most rational fans thought they would at the beginning of the season

We were expecting a dropoff but not this bad

The talent is there

Is it? Our front 7 looks completely outmanned in almost every game. Their inability to shed blocks and seal edges is a major concern that goes past understanding the defense. We are small on the front 7 and its not like we are faster than everyone else out there either at the same time.

I seem to recall a lot of fans expecting 3-4 losses this year. Well here we are.

I can't speak for the knee jerks out there, but I've played, taped, and studied this game for longer than I care to admit. And I know 50 coaches that would be very interested to have Coach Chavis sit down with LSU game film at the next Coaches Convention in BR and explain WTF is going on at the Mike position.

They would love to know why our Mike is lining up outside on slot receivers in fourth down and forever situations.

Personally, all this talk about alignment obligations sounds like the path of least resistance for someone stepping down at the end of the season.

That's my take. I've truly run out of possible scenarios. There's a couple of other explanations I've heard, but they all fall under the heading of conspiracy. Lol

Problem is Chavis went small.

He wants small, fast LBers and small DE's.

He's traded size and strength for small and fast.

I said before the season we would be lucky to go 8&4. We have big problems with the entire defense & yet some OF u say we are improving.BULL shite! OUR TEAM IS PLAYING LIKE SAT. GAME WAS OUR FIRST GAME. First of all some one has to take responsible for the poor defense. Yes we lost some great players. I think the chief has lost a step,& Mills should be selling pop corn in the stands. Only thing he has done this year is learn how to jump in the air after the receiver beat on a long pass again!

If major changes don't come, it'll be hard to watch next year...

yeah, he did that on UGA's game winning TD play and I was just like, "whaaaaa"?

Chavis is no doubt one of the top DCs around, but he does some head scratching things at times.

I think it starts with the D-line. A bad D-line will make Ray Lewis look bad.
Somebody understands that the D-line must protect the LBs and not allow the O-line to reach the second level. Football games are won in the trenches, especially SEC football.

This may sound simple-minded to some, but that won't bother me...one problem with Chief's system is that the SEC is now got huge, strong Olinemen that are dominating our DL....our recruiting and system has not measured up to this advancement...change has to occur!
